  1. forward on the balls of your feet, being extra careful aware of the tiny thing as you pluck it from the carpet; turn it over and over and over in your hands. under the dim Olive Garden light it smiles very sweetly, deflecting the light off of itself just /so/ and into your kind-of-gaunt-but-not-all-that-bad face. stars.
    you notice that it can’t even fit over the tip of your littlest finger.
    you right yourself very slowly. slow enough to register the different little pushes and pulls of muscle and bone. slow enough for dozens of eyes to notice and look on, dripping with pity.
    you straighten the collar of your shirt, smooth back your hair, pay the bill and leave a twenty-dollar tip.
    you slip the ring into your pocket and start walking sort of funny lopsided under its delicate weight.
    the smell of perfume lingers, warm and lovely, in the air.

    I’m going to see Lion King in 3D soon. I love Lion King.
    Lions crouch. A lot. To eat their prey.
    That’s all of the things i can think of that can crouch. I guess humans can crouch.

  6. the lion crouched as he was about to devour the poor helpless bunny, he could not resist the smell.It was the mixture of beets, and sweat that grabbed the lions attention. He never thought that he would experience a taste like that.

  13. i was crouching behind a counter, trying to hide the fact that i embarrassed him by hiding myself.

  14. i was crouching down on the field waiting for the pitcher to make her strike. The ball was lightening fast and I was hoping the batter would miss her shot and land the ball straight into my hand. It was the complete opposite of that, she instead hits the ball causing a home run and bases were loaded. The crowd cheers on as she scores and I stand in frustration, legs hurting from crouching, and all I can manage to say was son of a gun.

He crouched lower to the ground, his fingers digging into the mulch, back aching with the awkward contortion of his body.

  35. at first I thought it said couch and it made me sleepier than I already am. crouch. lion? why lion. crouch before pouncing on prey. oh this is a happy writing. well I get that I’m tired and thinking about prey. which makes since. haven’t slept much and am chasing by not chasing. which is not very lioness of me. no wonder I suck at it. cold is not my forte.
