  1. The sum that they had demanded was not a large amount, indeed it was quite a lot less than had been expected. What this signified was anybody’s guess.

  21. Modest is how I would describe how I try to live my life. Not too little, not excess, just the right balance.

  22. blushing, she came down the stairs. her date barely recognized her. when she saw his face she wondered what had happened to him. she was startled by his look. what was it? it certainly couldn’t be her…

  23. I don’t know much about modesty, I don’t even know if this is the right noun. That might be the case because English isn’t my native language; but neither is modesty. Or modestness. Or however it is called. Since I was young, I always believed that we are destined to “boldly go”, and this doesn’t leave much space for being modest.

  24. I have always been modest when I have a secret ambitious to be audacious. But, I don’t know where to even start with that. How can you go from all those years, believing you should not toot your own horn, to screaming out to the world to be noticed?

  25. modest…. being modest will always help you… its a right way to live … to be modest with everyone….but firstly yourself… dress modestly… and most of all speak and behave modestly… good day begins with it think modestly..

  26. Although she was intelligent and always looked good she never bragged about anything. Even when she was left an inheritance she was really modest about it and just carried on being her normal, kind self xx

  27. she smoothed the front of her skirt, adjusted her top, and squinted at her reflection in the floor-to-ceiling mirror. the clothes. there was so much of them. the skirt was an awkward length and the blouse covered her neck to waistline, full sleeves. she looked respectable, businesslike, and incredibly boring.

  28. I am anything but modest. I make my feelings know what matter what. This side of me, develop from years of mistreatment and disrespect about my views
    on life.

  30. Bathing suits are more revealing than wearing a bra and underwear. I want to wear a bra and underwear on the beach. Watch as people realize. Laugh at their reactions.

  31. I’m just to modest to tell you how wonderfull I am.

  32. You are quite modest,
    definitely modest,
    way too much maybe.

    I mean,
    you’re
    vivid,
    for God’s sake.
    And you don’t realize it.

    Your eyes are bright
and your fingertips tapping my lips sound right
    among laughs and cries and hold breaths;
your hair gently pulled away from your forehead
    and your open, red mouths smile every now and then;
(I could looking at you for hours, day, even months.)

    You should see yourself
    with my eyes:
    you’re beautiful.

  33. it is not hard to be modest when you are not proud of how you look in the first place, I wish i didn’t know modesty so well. I would rather walk around showing off my bathing suit I just dont want it bad enough to really work for it, it is right there I know whhat to do

  34. modesty is something that people have created due to the fact that usually women are too eye catching and they have to have rules that restrict women to wearing certain things or they could be called horrible names and disowned because of choice of clothing or makeup choices. whatever the case, its not even a real subject because it doesnt really exist.

  35. He was always modest, almost to a fault. “That’s a nice suit you have on.”

“Thanks. But I didn’t pick it out.”

“Well, you wear it well.” What kind of compliment could you give him, really? He was a man–a being–completely without ego, without self. He was an experiment in a branch of science we didn’t even know existed until we created him. And we destroyed him.

  36. What a quixotic assertion to bequeath an unprecedented modesty in response to compliments and aberrational musings. Perhaps your vehement postulations, mellifluously tongued with a cadence and virtuosity adept equal to Minerva, proved to persuade and influentially pioneer such pensive accolades. Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow.

  37. There is no reason to be modest here. No need for masks. Uncoil yourself Leviathan, speak from the deep.

  38. Modest. Honest. But are the two alike or is one a shade to hide the disgust when the other fails? Is on a catalyst for deconstructing the inner workings of a mind…

  39. I am not the most modest. I have been naked in public like A LOT. There’s naked figures, paintings, sketches, and photos. I look better naked than dressed.

  40. “It was nothing, my lady,” she protested weakly.
“You’re too modest, my dear,” she said, resting a light hand on her arm before returning her eyes to her husband. “I’ve never seen anyone so talented with a blade,”
“Especially a woman,” he added dryly, disapproval hovering at the edges of his tone.
In an attempt to keep herself silent, Annabeth dug her own fingers into her thigh almost to the point of pain.
