  1. It’s only one… No one can change it but you… Oneword… You… your World….

  2. There was a tinny little red satellite radio sticking out of the debris and rubble, playing old 80’s hits. Even through the screams, LaShonda could hear Steve Perry’s voice singing ‘don’t stop believin’. She hugged what was left of her mangled leg and started laughing and crying.

  3. The disaster had kept her awake, and the spine-chilling laugh echoed in her mind like an alarm without a switch. No matter how much she tried to think of something else, to close her eyes and fall asleep, the laugh was still screaming at her ears. The bedroom was dark and no sound could be heard, but the laugh inside her mind filled every little spot of her room and screamed at her constantly. No matter how many pillows were pushed against her ears to block the horrifying laugh coming from her mind, nothing would change.

  8. “no no no no no.” She murmured to herself as she ran through the house, taking in the mess of the house. ” This is awful. Its a disaster.” There were cups and trash everywhere. People passed out. Puke all over the place. She hasn’t even seen outside and she didn’t even want to check the bedrooms. “What am I going to do.” She thought. ” Mom and Dad are going to be home in at three and its twelve now.” Looks like you could use some help.” A familiar, deep voice said from behind her. “I don’t remember inviting him,” She thought. “But then again I don’t remember inviting most of these people.” She didn’t want him there but she needed the help.

  9. when you find out you have nothing to do and there nothing you want to do then you find the real disaster as i found it.

  10. This was a complete and utter disaster. It was full of nothing but a liquid batter that was too thin to do anything with.
    “Pancakes ready?” Nick asked hopefully.
Picking up the whisk, Emily smiled. “How about cereal?”

  11. Eddy panicked, it was not supposed to end like this! It was not supposed to end so soon, and so early.
“Calm down,” Jared yawned. “You can just make another bowl of cereal.”
Eddy sighed in defeat and picked up the broken shard of the bowl that was scattered on the floor by his feet. “But it was CAPTAIN CRUNCH DUDE!”
Jared rolled his eyes, “Drama queen.”

  12. Well, there we go, late for work. That’s what I get for giving up on being a hermit. Social life or stable income? This is a disaster.

  13. Angels swarm around shouting warnings to the people below but the chaos is so great that nobody’s listening. Jason makes eye contact with me through the crowd but before I can move toward him I’m thrown to the ground by a sudden swell of terror. My knees hit the concrete and blinding pain shoots through my legs, but a high-pitched wail right in my ear jolts me back into focus. I try to stand up but the wailer is in full-on panic mode, clinging to me with clammy hands and screaming something I can’t understand. Her eyes move to something above us and widen in horror so I make the mistake of looking up, too.

Now, there are a lot of things you might expect to see when looking up at the sky – airplanes, stars, clouds, maybe the occasional satellite – but I think I speak for all of mankind when I say there are some things you definitely don’t anticipate seeing up there, and I’m fairly confident a massive, flaming chunk of skyscraper hurtling toward you at roughly the top speed of a Dodge Charger is one of those things. And you most certainly don’t expect, as you roll out of the way with a wailing civilian latched onto you like some kind of poorly swaddled baby, to look around and find that more flaming chunks of skyscraper are raining from the atmosphere and pummeling members of the crowd into dust.

    What a freaking disaster.

  18. “This is a disaster.”
    “Yep.”
    “Don’t patronize me.”
    “I was agreeing with you!”
    “It was patronizing.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t talk at all.”
    “FINALLY.”

“It’s really a disaster, what do I do?”

“Oh, very funny, will you knock it off?”

  19. you should think about what you would call a worst case scenario in terms how your life goes. if the worst thing that could ever happen to you, the biggest disaster, would be staying in the same place, both mentally and physically – is it worth staying safe?

  20. It was how they worked. She would push him, but he’d always pull her back. They’ll struggle — hit, bite and bleed. The metallic taste lingering on the other’s mouths, their porcelain skins bruised under eachother’s hands. Consuming. Intoxicating. They knew it wouldn’t end well for either of them, but who else would love a disaster like her, but a mess of a man like him?

  21. What a disaster, the man screamed “32 people dead from the accident?”. He was so nervous he could not think straight. His daughter might have been on that bus.

  22. What a shame. The whole world falls apart after one break, after one crack. That’s all it takes, that’s enough to destroy the world. Some would call it a disaster, I call it an opportunity.

  23. My cake was a real disaster. I forgot the sugar and I dind’t get it out of the oven in time.

  24. Trees, mud and boulders blocked the road, with streams of water forging new river courses in the mud. “Look there,” he pointed at a bulldozer stuck in the mud. “The driver’s lucky he could get out before the landslide covered him up.” He surveyed what would have been the future tourism site. “What a disaster. I’m ruined.” He never admitted that their previous construction caused this whole thing.

  25. An unexpected natural or man-made catastrophe of substantial extent causing significant physical damage or destruction, loss of life or sometimes permanent change to the natural environment.

An unforeseen event causing great loss, upset or unpleasantness of whatever kind.

    Today.

    smiles a sailboat of promise.

  30. she falls and it is all he sees.
she falls and the world tips from beneath him once more.

he’s seen this scene before, he’s played this part. the cirle had shown him before how easily heroes fall. and kirkwall, oh kirkwall.

and here he is, watching the fire around her. and in all his life, in all the death, he’s never seen such a disaster.

  31. It was a disaster. Cake all over the floor and even some on walls. Furniture turned over and the floor, the part that wasn’t smeared with cake was sticky. Whoever said that having a birthday party for a two year old was a good idea was crazy.

  32. When I can’t get my hair together it is a disaster. A first world issue but still a disaster. And it isn’t about it not being the right style, it is about how to hide the grays from showing. I’m only 30 years old and I have a head full of gray hair. That truly is a disaster! Thanks mom and dad for both being prematurely gray and giving this wonderful trait to me as well.

  33. It was such a disaster. In her worst nightmares, she’d never imagined the blind date could go *quite* so badly. It was the kind of story she couldn’t have made up — so unbelievable it had to be true.

  34. I had a disaster yesterday, I left my coffee fell in my blouse and I needed that blouse to go to work in the other day.

  35. There was a disaster. She was gone. He was alone. She couldn’t be gone, though, because he couldn’t live without her. It was a misunderstanding, right? It had to be. He didn’t want to live in a beautiful world without a beautiful girl to share it with. Now it was just dull colors and pitiful eyes. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t learn to love again without her because she was the love of his life. She was his one, his only. His other half. After all, he knew that without another half, the first is useless.

  36. When the lightning struck, it burned down the house. My family grabbed the dog and went outside. Before I left I grabbed whatever valuables I could, and ran like hell for the door. I didn’t get much.

  37. Disaster is something that happens often in people’s lives. I’ve definitely had my fair share of it. What I’ve learned is that there’s beauty that lies ahead of said disaster. Fog and faith moments go hand in hand in this world and you just have to learn how to get out of the fog because the faith is what makes life worth living.

  38. The film shoot was a complete and total disaster – possibly not anything that could hold a candle up to certain cinematic shenanigans, but still pretty terrible. For one thing, the main actor, who had been fighting norovirus for about two days, proceeded to projectile vomit during one of the most romantic scenes in the movie. As he was carted away, the Director of Photography suddenly decided that he wanted to argue with the film’s director about the way the cameras were positioned – something that the director was not too thrilled about, and she showed it by the way she ran her fingers through her short red hair.

  39. i am not afraid at age five –
my mother gives me two quarters

they fall like tears into the collection jug

we sing at the concert for the dead, and i
    know nothing of the disaster

    plastic bags for boots

i know nothing of the racial disparities,
    of the failing relief programs,
of george w. bush’s face on the news
    every night –

    of anything but
    my heart in my ears.

  40. it’s a disaster, this love, this pulse. for a name of a center of a tornado is the sale of the heart: how ould money and blood mix and give life to a dream? there ain’t to love hard enough, there ain’t no sleep tough enough, there ain’t nothin’ but a deep blue dark track across a pulse. it’s my own private disaster.
