  2. Little is known about her past since she became the ‘Lady of Letters’; camouflaging her own story through others’ stories, mending her torn self by fixing others’ torn selves. There’s no trade secret–though rival stations are convinced there is–why her segment is the highest rating advice segment on the radio right now. It’s just that she’s as broken and lost and hopeless as her listeners that call to her hotline every night.

  3. The word “camouflage” is a noun and an adjective. The soldiers in the Army wear camouflage, but other people also wear it just as a style.

  5. A dazzling smile that left me breathless and gasping for air. Eyes with a spark in them I once mistook for boyish trouble. A boisterous laugh that shook his whole body and made me smile. That was his camouflage. What he used to hide his true intentions.

  6. The pattern blurred and separated before coming back together in a sickeningly dizzying array of colors. She couldn’t have been more conspicuous if she tried. I rolled my eyes towards heaven, praying that a miracle would take this outfit off of my mother and place her in a sensible pantsuit.

The Lord works in mysterious ways, but not that mysterious.

  7. Green. Brown. Tree limbs and leaves. That’s all she could see in the shadowy undergrowth of the forest. If he was hiding in there, his camouflage was good. She took an uneasy step backwards, hoping that if was only the wind rustling the leaves. She had to get out.

  8. Sometimes I wish I was better at camouflaging, at not attracting attention…. I’m not sure if I like getting attention or if I hate it.

  13. it was the tree that camouflaged the chameleon as it sat on a branch waiting for an unsuspecting prey to come in. As he lay awaiting he thought back on how life treated him and what he learnt from it.

  17. The sounds of Full Metal Jacket fills my ears as I drift off to sleep while my husband tries to decompress from the day.

  18. The scarf covering her head was good to keep the wind out, but it did little to camouflage her in the moving sand. She was waiting there with her partner to see if the Mexican drug lords would show up to their meeting spot. They sat quietly, hidden to the eye of their enemies. As they looked through their binoculars, they could see the dust being forced up and then falling back down as a truck approached the meeting spot.

“We have to go,” she said. “They will see us if we don’t.”

The two moved back and snuck out of sight from anyone who could stumble upon them. She took her place behind her sniper rifle as he receded to their dirt bikes to radio in back up. The plan worked. Their country now safer with fewer threats of drugs and dangerous drug money entering their territory. Mexican authorities showed up as was planned to issue an arrest to anyone who was not left dead.

  19. The sun was hot as it beat down onto the open fields of the bushveld. Coming through the long grass was the feintest rustle as the lions, perfectly camouflaged in the open plains, stalked their prey, hungry for dinner.

  20. Alexander deployed his camouflage every time he went out to the gay bar in the small town he grew up in. He put on a hat, lowered his voice, and wore very different clothing than his normal conservative attire. He wasn’t alone either, he saw many people from the community also in different garb than normal. But was this a disguise or their true self? He could never figure that part out, as he didnt know himself.

  22. Camouflage made her want to throw up.

Honestly, it was so tacky. She understood the practicality for hunting, a popular hobby in the south where she lived, but when people showed up to school wearing it she just wanted to vomit.

It was only worse when people wore crocs with camouflage too.

  23. We pretend we are just like everyone else. We hope no one notices the little differences we camouflage with the proper colors (really, Pantone? Baby blue and baby pink?!!) and lipstick, but we know it’s just a fascade.

  24. The soldier ran into the woods, wondering what’s left of his wife and if she’s still alive. He runs, and runs without looking back, without thinking about the war he’s leaving behind and all the people that goes with it.

  25. Camouflage clothes seem so fashionably outdated, but I am so addicted to its design that I would wear it as my mind insists.

  27. Chameleons camouflage themselves to ensure survival against predators. They will blend in with trees and or plants. Humans camouflage their emotions. They pretend to be happy even if they are not. I think camouflaged emotion is the main driver of suicide.

  28. Like a butterfly with owl eye wings or a lizard on a branch she used her fleeting sense of fashion to camouflage herself within the wild world of vicious lust-soaked women and try hard men.

Little did she know she was wonderful exactly as she was.

  29. A few years ago, I had the bright idea to buy my son camouflage sandals. I spent more time that summer searching for them than he did actually wearing them. Do you know how funny a 5 year old finds it when he chucks his shoes into tall grass & then watches you frantically looking for shoes that have completely disappeared?

  31. We don’t just use camouflage in war but we use it in society also. Sometimes it’s easier to be like everyone else then to just be your own persons and that’s how i was in the foster care system i just wanted to blend in with every body else but i couldn’t i was to different.

  34. this is something we use when we are trying to hide. Nature has plenty examples to provide within the animal kingdom. We as humans need to use some camouflage often. We camouflage our feelings as we don’t want to look vulnerable to others and get our feelings hurt.

  38. Any attempt on the boys’ part to camouflage into the background was absolutely futile, and the enemy could see them from literally a mile away. As gunshots rang out, it took all of Larry, Gregory, and Howard’s power and energy to flee and hide behind the closest dumpster they could find.

“Still want to do Liamsworth’s dirty work?” demanded Gregory.

“Shut up! I’m doing my best here!” Howard snarled.
