The chair was sitting upright in the dark corner. It had collected dust from the years it has sat there, unused. The jacket she would always wear lay upon it

The chair stood upright in the dark corner. It had collected dust over the past few years of it sitting there, unused. Her shawl she would always wear lay upon it signifying a memory lost.

Die Rechte werden nach oben verteilt. Auf die Hausdächer. Auf die Bäume. Auf die Wolken. Auf die Türme. Dort oben stehen, sitzen, schweben einige wenige. Die die fliegen können. Die die klettern können. Die die mutig sind. Nur sie dürfen auf den Rest der Welt hinab schauen.

Her undying righteousness made her seem more upright than the average person. But in reality, she had a hunch in her posture, which no one noticed.

It was dark. He was frightened. Shadows upon shadows flickered before him as the little elephant tried to sit upright but it was hard. Everyone was so large and frightening. He gave a small pitiful bellow and immediately several dozen of elephants answered his call. He tripped on his front feet in surprise

i feel uptight and upright, it’s so early in the morning and my eyes won’t close. my tea is hardly boiling and the clouds are a bit more grey than usual. you have the best eyes. they pierce right into my soul and lock me down \, leaving me to myself, forgetting all about my cold tea,

John sat upright in bed, gasping for air, heart beating erratically in his chest. He hadn’t had a nightmare like this in ages, his traumatic night terrors vanishing after taking up adventuring with his flat mate. He really should have expected it, then, when they came back when his flat mate left him. But, well. He’d hoped. He really ought to stop doing that.

No one told Danny to sit upright in his classes anymore. Indeed, the boy who sat next to him near the back of the lecture hall, who always had a cup of coffee in an “environmentally-friendly recycled cup” with the picture of the globe in light green, always fell asleep during class. Danny watched the pencil fall languidly from his grasp, watched the boy’s head jerk, the boy shaking his hair as if it would help, fumbling with the paper cup but found it empty, then finally giving up and putting his head in his arms. He felt like he was in competition with the sleepy boy, said in his head, Danny 1, visitor 0, every time he stayed awake. But his notes were illegible, even though he erased and copied the same thing several times. What would his math teacher think now, the one who strode down the aisle and slapped her yardstick on his desk when his head nodded during algebra 2, who at the end gave him a B- and called him the most improved student in his class?
Danny gathered up his stuff and flopped onto the empty seat one row ahead, away from the sleeping boy.

Sitting upright in the plane was so uncomfortable. I was unable to lean back, still flying to this strange place I would now call my home, not to mention it was halfway across the world.

Sitting upright typing on the keyboard . The key board lays flat on the desk. The kind of dest that fat american families eat dinner on while watching television. The computer screen sits up right held up by the part that lay flat. Upright…tada.

I would like to ask a good and upright question. What does it mean to be poor?
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.”
– Jesus, Luke 4:18
What did He mean by poor (.)?

The chair no longer sat upright like it used to. Worn and tired, its legs now stuck out at odd angles. The table next to it, almost perfect and elegantly polished, served only as a reminder to the chair of all that it could not be, no matter how hard it tried.

For the upteenth time that morning, Mark reached over and set his column upright. Why couldn’t it just stay put? He’d built it well enough; there shouldn’t be any reason for it to fall. What would Professor Elodian say to a column that couldn’t stand up straight, much less hold up a rooftop?

I am upright, if only in appearance. Even if, in reality, I have been torn in too many pieces to be called upright, but rather everywhere, like confetti in the wind, uncertain of where I shall be blown next, only knowing that it will be away from you, and that is better than towards you.

It’s upright amazing how incredibly horrible people can make you feel about yourself. When you listen to every single word someone has to say but once you open your mouth to speak they so bluntly ignore every pathetic word that comes out of your stupid mouth, making you sit there and talk to yourself foolishly. It’s just amazing how ignorant and disgusting everyone can really be.

The whole class immediately sat upright. The head teacher had come in supervise the class.
“So class, can anyone tell me what a significant factor was in Hitler’s rise to power?” said the teacher.
Melody raised her hand. The teacher was was wary, because Melody usually made some smart remark, but she was too late to stop her.
“Because the Doctor didn’t stop him,” Mels said, with a triumphant look on her face.
The teacher sighed and held her head in her hands.
