  1. i love hearing the crunch of twigs and leaves under my feet as i am adventuring through the forest. On top of that sound, you are surrounded by calling birds and small animals scurrying about of the forest floor from time to time. i never feel so alive as i do when i am surrounded by the earth’s natural beauty.

  2. She stood at the door of the court room. How had she gotten here? This was a hearing to arraign her on first degree murder charges. How? She’d married a son-of- a-bitch, that’s how.

  3. I will let this bridge burn down as ash and fire and cinders dance in a circle above you. I will let them float down and cover your face, until you cannot see or touch or breathe. I will let you lie on the ground and walk away, stepping on the imprint your body makes on the sand.

You will do nothing to stop me.

  6. can you hear me

it’s like i’m talking to a fucking rock

like i’m in a impenetrable bubble

like no one can (or wants to) acknowledge that i exist

    maybe everything would be okay

if we’d just listen to each other.

  7. My heart beats erratically against my aching chests. Chilling winds and snowflakes knife painfully into my shivering body. My heaving pants vaporize in the afternoon blizzard. My feet pound mercilessly against the sidewalk. I hike my backpack higher up my back, still barreling down 51st Street.
I dig my feet into the concrete, swing my arms wide, and propel myself forward.
I never meant to hear their conversation.
But now that I did, there was no way I could go back.
Again and again, their words replay in my throbbing head. “She’ll be dead by morning.”
And now…I was running for my life. But I had no idea from what.

  8. I hear their voices.
They are crying out to me. Telling me to choose a different path.
They are harassing me with questions. Asking why I didn’t tell them.
They are blaming me for their pain. Screaming obscenities at me.
They are laughing when I stumble. Cursing my name with glee.
I hear their voices, and they haunt me.

  9. “What,” Lucy Said. “What is that?”
Everyone froze in the dark corridor.
“What is it Lucy?” Said Chole
“Oh…Oh..Oh my god. Oh!” Lucy whispered.
“What are you hearing?” I said
“We have to go!” It was written in her face. Something wrong was happening here and she – nobody – wanted to find our.
We all Five of us slowly walked the dark way we had come. I hugged Lucy but I could see the others narrowing their eyes at her, disbelieving.

  11. Its weird to see how different I am. How different I was, the person I am. I like me better, I’m much more fun, exciting, vibrant? Maybe that’s not quite the right word. I’m hearing things differently seeing it like a new person. But its true what they say.. you can’t have good grades, a social life, and be well rested. You can onlyy pick two. Right now sleep is not something I have the time and fortune to receive. I need summer. Summer will make everything so much better, better than it already is. Because this shitty weather makes me depressed. School makes me depressed. I’m sick of being depressed.

  12. Hearing the sounds of the wilderness comforted me, made me feel safe, and like I wasn’t in the arena. I felt that if I tried hard enough, I could bring myself back home. The thoughts of Rue came back to my mind making my good thoughts taste like blood. I knew she would have wanted to go back home too, and feel the warmth, and comfort of her own home. I wish I had done more to save her.

  15. Hearing is comprised of sound. Sound can best be described as “Touch at a distance”, for the process by which sound travels across the air, through your earlobe, while agitating every individual hair in your ear, it is simply, “touch at a distance.”
