Torch of civilization
more negative than positive
torching out carnal desires
light can be brought into darkness,
but darkness cannot be brought into light

The flame on the torch kept growing, almost simulating the love between Henrik and Ana, touching the ceiling and spreading to the walls of that old house, just like them. Fighting for their passionate but forbidden love!

this is the light I always need. Big Ones, little ones and LED ones and any kind. They are invaluable to man since we started to walk around in the dark with fire on a stick.

I want to torch my journals. Set up a huge bonfire on the beach and grab a long and book by book, page by page even, set my past on fire. Watch it be destroyed. I imagine it to be therapeutic. One of these days I’ll let it all go.

They ran from them. Ran as fast as they could through the woods, ducking under branches and loose hanging wood. They ran from the men. The men who had torches. The men who wanted to take her away from him. Clutching her hand, he led the way, though the brush and into an open clearing.

I stood, disbelieving, staring at the hatred in her eyes. Her hair was wild, blown by the wind, it’s dark strands like slashes across her face. Beautiful hands clenched in rage.
“Torch it.” She said.
I opened my mouth to speak, to argue with her decision, but nothing came out. I struck the match on the box’s strike pad and watched the flame flare. I glanced once at her. She was drunk with her rage. I tossed the match and watched it’s flame tumble through the air toward the target.

Torch the buildings, torch the rule books. It’s anarchy, man. This torch I’ve been carrying has burnt my fingertips for so long and it’s time to just let it all go. I’ve loved you for so long, but it hasn’t been for anyone’s benefit. Good luck, let this be the cleansing fire to encourage new growth.

He held the torch high in the air, swinging it around wildly at the hidden things in the shadows. The only sound he could hear was his heart pounding in his ears and the frantic gasping for air that he slowly recognized as his own.
“John…John, where are you! Did they get you, too!?”

we hold the flame in our hands and give it down from generation to generation and hope it will never go out.

the first thing that comes to my mind is the Olympics. the man running around the world with a lit torch. how did he sleep?

A light in the dark, guidance in times of need. A trusty companion on many adventures, necessary part of any backpack. Brings back memories of camping, training weekend and africa. Thinking of my head torch that didn’t work very well haha. Always carry spare batteries! Also handy to have in the house in case of power cuts, along with candles, thinking of mayo :L I’m thinking of tunnels and

The torch burned brightly, I knew that soon enough this touch would consider if I lived or die. It was getting closer now. So close that I could feel it’s warm heat on my skin. I knew that the end was coming, but I couldn’t say goodbye.

The torch was held high, burning brightly against the darkness that loomed before Ryan’s eyes. He could make out a figure in the distance. Shrouded in black, huddled against the giant redwood trees. In his hand was a scythe, it gleamed in the light of the fire he carried. Even across such a distance, it shone with quiet malevolence.

A lighting device, for in the dark. You can get male sex toys in the shape of a torch. I have a blue one, and a black one. They all ways seem to have a lack of battery power. Its a bit rubbish when I want to go to my shed and I’m scared.

It burned brightly against the night. Brilliant it stood between them and the darkness. A sea of shadows out before their feet they were afraid to move lest the waves of night come crashing down on them. They trembled in the still air, their torch hissing and spitting furiously into the darkness. The flame was not afraid, it was ready.

Philosophically the torch can mean more than just a light in an otherwise dark place. The torch is a powerful symbol, recognized by ancient cultures as well as our modern one. In the Olympic games, a chosen Olympian would run with the torch through many cities on his way to light a massive torch at the actual games. This is a powerful metaphor, symbolizing the idea that the runner is “illuminated” in some way. He is a part of a group that has found a higher understanding as far as physical performance.

Long time, I said. I light up a torch then walk towards the wooden chair. I sit cross-legged, and prop the book open on my lap. Rekindling a love affair.

i live through my internal fire, the fire that burns deep inside me somewhere. I have never seen it. All i know is that i have a torch inside me and i cant get it out. I love my fire with my whole soul.

We lit the torch before we went down the steps. Not knowing what to expect Killa took out her dagger and took point in front of me as we went down the stairs.

fire. flame. light. leads you through tunnels of darkness. burning cobwebs and things in its path. what are you looking for? what will you find? where are you? will you get out?
By lorien on 03.19.2012
the torch the flame the honor thy name keep it simple keep it true it burns through the ages and sears history. there is only one flame in all of the world and it burns continously forever.
By toni on 03.19.2012
I wonder if carrying the torch is an old saying related tom the Olympics or if it has to do with medieval people trying tomkeepmthose they love warm. Torch has negative connotations when related to race relations in the U.S.
