The tape started losing its hold. Soon the tape was only good for tossing in the garbage, and I couldn’t do anything about it but wait for a new roll.

When I was younger, before there was Napster or Limewire or any of that shit and you wanted to listen to a concert Joy Division put up in Manchester or something, you couldn’t just TYPE and click SEARCH. It will start with “The Mixtape” my Jack’s mannequin, and won’t end until I’ve covered my range of feelings for you- like I wrote every note with my own fingers. You will listen to it, and those songs will burn me in to your memory. It will immortalize us.
