  2. “It’s not so much the fact that he’s ugly…it’s that his back is made of paper.”

The ugly man in question grumbled at that. His creator, however, was obviously not pleased.

“I…I…I…just ran out of metal, is all! He’s still perfectly capable.”

    “He’s not capable, he’s a goddamn paperback!”

  3. Paperback what? Novel? They’re cheaper than . . . what would you call them? Non-paperbacks? Oh right, hardcovers. Never saw the point in hardcovers. Just make paperbacks. They’re cheaper, lighter, and make no difference to the writing. SCREW HARDCOVERS! Seriously. They suck. A lot.

  7. She spoke in tongues of a paperback romance novels, words brimming with poetic meaning. She spoke them with conviction, but wondered what they meant. She knew the definitions of these words, but not what they were, how they felt in reality. It’s a shame no one ever told her not to pour her hopes into these places of fictionalized perfection, even as she spoke without certainty, her hope lay in the bindings of the pages she turned daily.

  8. Crumbling beauties of torn paper and acid stains. Of neon colors, of 80s fonts, of cheesy Western scenes. Of make-you-blush-till-you-laugh erotic titles. Oh the compact, light, and inexpensive delicious paperback, devoured by the lonely everywhere. Your days are numbered.

  9. I’m bringing paperback…I just was at the library today for the first time in a while. I actually checked out a book that’s hardcover. Anyway, the librarian was talking about how the library is mroe busy than ever but with all of the budget cuts happening the hours will probably be shortening. I don’t think people quite realize or appreciate what good you can do with and at the library.

  12. Paperback can be a book or I suppose in a paperback, you can have a character with a paperback lol. They are usually lighter cheaper versions of the popular hardback books. I usually do not prefer them because they tear easily and can catch on fire, but when there is only a paperback to buy, I have to stick to it.

  14. I read it all in a paperback novel, the kind you could stuff in your back pocket. It seemed that the character was really about me, but I guess we always think that. Narcissism is to blame I suppose, a result of our reality TV and facebook driven lives. The idea that we are somehow deserving of being followed.

  17. paperbacks are books which have a soft cover. i prefer them than hardbacks because i can twist the cover behind the book and turn the whole book, instead of having to adjust the book while reading on the bed.
