  6. I wear a blue pinstriped suit down the streets of New York, my black heels clicking against the concrete, and I am alone in my mind of business and life. This road is the one less traveled they say, yet there are millions like me walking to their work, their homes, some place for them to escape. I remember the days when I was a child walking among the sky scrapers and lights with my family, dreaming of running away here some day. That dream has lived, but with different memories and experiences that not even I can describe.

  9. Business. It’s what you’ve always been about. But it’s empty. Hollow. Like you. Like that cavity that should hold a heart. It’s merely a suit, but to you, it’s the world. To me, it’s chains. Enjoy it. Without me.

  15. The suit was neatly pressed and hung in the closet like a ghost of his former work. Being laid off was tough, but he didn’t miss putting that wool on every morning and commuting into the city for his job. He could stay at home, sleep late, and even wear jeans the rest of the week. He just wished the suit would stay there forever.

He stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his tie and running his hand lightly over his gelled hair, feeling the rough tips under the pads of his fingers, and he sighed. But yet again, I can’t afford them. I don’t know how bad or good I’ll look if I wore one. Not even at my wedding. God save me!

  39. I am in my summer suit today.
    My comfortable-and-dressed-up-and-want-to-have-fun-and-not-bother-with-the-world-suit.
But I wear a lot of suits for a lot of things.
For my emotions, for that day, for that time.
My most important suit is my camouflage suit, though.
I have a lot of things to hide.

  40. The man in the suit wasn’t a good person. I mean, maybe he was, but I didn’t want to think of him as that. He was the one who took me from my dad, why should he be a good person? I don’t care if my dad was a little eccentric or drank a lot or maybe let me do more things that I should be allowed to, but he was a good dad.
