Sitting up off him i smash knuckles into his face until they’re raw and bloody.
In the blink of an eye, she saw her whole fututre. Laid out right there in front of her. She did feel some disappointment at knowing everything now, but the safety of knowing that she would have a family that she loved was satisfying, too.
When it happens I’m jolted back to reality. Or is that just a nickname for present tense where we want to live but have to race in place to be there when suddenly we are.
Suddenly the setting changed. It went from bright and sunny to dark and moonlit.
