A time to comtemplate. Someone may sit to relax, to eat, or simply as they need a rest. One thing everyone does, however, is wonder. Wonder about the universe, where did we come from? where are we going? What is the meaning? For meaning, as in this case, is what defines us.
Wow. I wonder if I’m right about this. Three times in a row I’ve had “sitting” as my word. This is most curious. I’m going to have to try once more to see if they have more than one word to write about. Well, the site is called “one word.” Perhaps it’s an experiment to see who’ll keep going on about “sitting.” I wonder if the creator has a thing for the word or if they happened to be sitting down when they were designing the site and thought, “How funny would it be to only have one word for a site named ‘one word?'”
Huh, I just finished writing about sitting. This is only the second word I’ve ever written about on this site and it’s “sitting” again. How strange. I was reading responses to “sitting” and saw two that had written for “sitting” twice. I wonder if “sitting” is actually the only word available on the site and it’s simply a question of how many times someone is willing to write about one word.
I am sitting here wishing that I could just sit here in quiet not moving, catching up on the sleep I missed last night. I wish the kids could just veg and dinner would magically appear.
As I was sitting on teh ledge in teh top of teh basement apartment’s mezzanine, I was struck by inspiration. I can no longer sit adn simply while away my time in this way. I stood up and ran out the door.

sitting down is what i’m doing right now. sitting is often comfortable if you’re in a comfy chair and don’t have back problems. however if you’re in a badly made chair or have an ache or both, you will not be comfortable and you’re better off lying down or just standing up. Sometimes legs can fall asleep while sitting. Feet can too. Also you can sit indian style on the ground or in a yoga position, which is a lot more comfortable than an uncomfortable chair.
I’m sitting down right now. the funny thing about sitting is that it immediately indicated a failure to remain standing. That is not necessarily a complete failure on the seated’s part, but more an observation indicated by the word. When I sit, I like to think about my day or read or think and read or lay back and relax or think and relax or think read and relax or smoke think and relax.
Sitting is one of the nicer things one can do with one’s free time. You don’t even need to practice it. Most of us can just do it, no problem. Ah, sitting… I’m doing it right now. Are you? If not, you should be. Go ahead. Give it a shot. There, isn’t that better?
i like sitting down, after a hard day; like today where i climbed a steep hill and after i felt very exhausted. i am sitting down now, i’m sitting still too because i have smoked some wacky baccy and i feel a bit too stoned to move. some animals can sit. not just “Disney” caracter animals: some other types such as bears and elephants (with difficulty) can sit. They don’t have gluteus maxi (MI?) like humans. Maybe that’s why we like sitting.
Sometimes I miss how he used to come to my house and sneak through the door on the first floor of the building. We’d be real quiet and all, and sneak up the steps to my room past the doors of my sisters who were always sound sleepers (although I’ll never know for sure.) He’d sit on my bed and pull out a movie from his backpack, and we’d just sit; and watch.
I am sitting in a room alone by myself it is quite and dark and i feel as if someone should be here to help me fight the feeling of depression. But maybe its not that bad maybe its all just in my head. I will live and continue on through the night find a way to breath listening to the darkness beneath me.

i am currently sitting at my desk at work. it is so bright and sunny outside and i am stuck at this awful desk with nothing to do but write about what i am doing. i am in the basement and there is nothing but halogens to keep me company. i cannot wait to get out of here and sit in the nice warm sun. perhaps jess will take out the hookah.

the cars were just waiting. i don’t know if had to do with the men in front, or if i had part to play. they just sat there. i was wondering exactly why, when they began to move. it confused me. i was just about to leave for home, when i decided id spent all my life wasting away, hoping to find out what would happen if i broke the conventions. destroyed the rules. if i had only 1` wish, it’d be for a glimpse of a rule less world. run the red. break the rules just sit there.
