The beach was perfect. Warm, light blue water with waves lapping at the sand. Palm trees lined the shore. As I walked across the dunes, the sand sifted through my toes. The whole scene was so serene.

The lake was as serene as an ocean green. The soft waves reminded me of her bright, blond waves of hair. Waves of grain. The waves of sound as her laughter jumped up and down octaves.
The seas seem calm today, I don’t understand why. We aren’t. No part of us seems to be serene at all. The waves within our own hearts are tumultuous, thrashing our hearts back and forth against the lungs and rib cage. It’s painful.

the rain falls near my window and i wouldn’t exactly call it serene…but it’s pretty darn close. i wouldn’t even know what serene meant if it came up to my window in the form of H2O droplets…
The lake was serene. The moon was reflected on the surface, but it was broken by the swan’s glide across the lake. It was a peaceful night, and it gave one a serene feeling of belonging and yet mysteriousness. The forest was on the side, displaying it’s might and size, and it gave people a feeling of wildness and ambition. What was this magical place? It was… only a figment of imagination but it was definetely dream-worthy.

I’m constantly battling within myself about things that I should believe in, shuttling between different views given by well-meaning friends, and to control my dark side of emotions and thoughts. I sometimes yearn to be at the end of my battle in life, to lie down, cross my arms across my chest, and to bid my farewell to this world. Perhaps that is my serenity in life.
The throbbing beat of the marketplace, words shouted around drifting music, ringing the noon air til the sounds were nearly visible; it had its own odd serenity. The peace of a bustling city…and she almost destroyed that.
