I’m not sure whether that was a good thing or not, but at least I was still here- and everything I knew about the hume world was still fresh in my mind.

Unlike a lot of the others that were around-
It wasn’t like I had been completely shut off from the world.

  7. Science is neither friend nor foe. It only obeys an order that is greater than the comprehension of humans. We do, we analyze it and we quantify it. It exists in our domain of understanding through translation of the human mind.

  8. The conversation quickly escalated to the subject of science. “What do you think of evolution?” She asked with a look of superiority on her face. I knew, fairly quickly, that this conversation was going to turn into a very impolite argument. Her on the side of spirituality, and me on the side of scientific evidence.

  13. Ted threw another log toward the gigantic fire. Why did Andrew have a sneaking suspicion that this would turn out to be another science lesson? “So as the chunk of wood approaches the flame–” started Ted, when Andrew cut him off over the radio, “Yes, I know. It will be vaporized into its atomic particles as the flame of the sun consumes its mass.”

Then Andrew held up his middle finger through his space-suit gloved hand and tethered himself back to the space ship.

  15. The art of physics, for it is an art, is something that transcends all disciplinary boundaries. And, like an art, it requires practise, and honing, and critique. How best to express a physical concept, visible in the real world, but counterintuitive to humans’ limited experience?

  22. science was my favourite subject in grade 9. My teacher had a ranking system where you could see your rank in the class. Me and another student had a competition through the whole semester to see who could win. I beat him by like 2 percent or something. 27. My love of science has always dominated my life, since my wife left me I’ve had nothing else to think about. I’m particularly interested in astrophysics. It just seems as if the world is so small and my problems are so insignificant. It makes… It makes me think of such a larger picture, and I just love that feeling. It makes me feel free..

  31. science is life, science is cool. It can help you move heaven and earth and it can blind you to the ultimate truth. it is a 2 tongued knife and can be a real help or a real obstacle. it can give you foresight or hinder you near sight.

  32. Science has never been a forte of mine. I’ve never understood it, or been able to wrap my head around it. Then again, I never really wanted to. The idea of knowing every bit of minutia there is to know about the world is overwhelming, head-spinning if you ask me. I’ll stick to fiction or general knowledge or common sense. I’m content and secure with my naivety.

  35. I’m lonesome, I admit it
There’s no science or reason to emotion
just a grind of gears as thoughts come into place
and a screeching halt when the heart calls out
    telling me something’s not right
    when I’m sitting here
    and he’s sitting there,
    apart in worlds as well as affection;
    I’d happily marry the scientist
if his theories caught my heart strings.

  36. I never liked reading about science in school. It goes over my head when you start talking about chemicals and reactions and mathematical equations. That takes the fun out of it because to understand would take hours upon hours. And I don’t have time like that!

  37. It’s not a science. Taking down names and logging them and filing. It’s hard to keep track of who is who and what is what. If you have to be exact you would need a computer, or at least some sort of budget for that.
