  10. i remember when i was around 8 and i saw my dad cry for the first and last time. he is a deeply disturbed man. It was over the most simple thing, he saw a phtot in the paper that looked like my mum. he got so angry over it. i remember.

  22. I remember when I was a kid, thinking I was happy. Upon reflection I realise I was making the best with what I had. Sure, I had happy times, but I remember the sad times the most. I don’t remember many ‘I love you’s. Shame, really. Children deserve to remember a happy childhood. I wish I could.

  35. do you remember the time that the fishbowl fell over the bookshelf edge because alice was pulling on the doily underneath and all the fish came out? i just remember that, can’t you– that moment when we found them out there like strangling to death and you sprinkled some of the last fishbowl water on them as we screamed to help them breathe but they just heaved their last gasps at endless intervals and we cried all the way through dinner, story, toothbrush and bed until we passed out exhausted. in the morning the bowl was in the dish drainer. the fish were gone.
