  24. Hated but loved. They are the history of our past and bonds that cannot be broken. I don’t know, they have quarks and oddities but are we just forced to love them? If we were not related but just knew them what would we think of them are normal human beings?

  25. My world is centered on family. Growing up, my mom is all I had. I had no friends in my neighborhood. Nor did I have a supporting dad. So my relatives took up that role for me…

  26. My relatives aren’t very numerous. Some pride themselves in having a gigantic extended family. While I recognize the advantages to this, I enjoy the closeness of a small family.

  27. Relatively speaking, we all have relatives whether we like them or not. We have parents, grandparents, great grandparents and way back. Why is it so fascinating to trace our ancestors?

  34. Relativesly speaking, I cannot go against the grain of society when I purchase different varieties of granola bars and orange juice. Social ostracization in this regard would be catastrophic to my sense of well-worth and very-being. As such I comply with the desires of my co-fellows and stick with brands and types of these foodthings that have, as of the recent taste-cycle, been deemed appropriate.

  35. We’re all so different, and bound together by such a silly thing. But we really do love one another. That’s kind of great, isn’t it?

  36. “Why?” I groaned.

A chuckle came from around the corner of the wall, followed by the sound of stir fry sizzling in its pan. “Because,” He told me, voice carrying delicately across the foyer. “I want them to see how amazing you are.”

The door bell rang, five minutes early.

    “I hate them already.”

  37. They made me insane

    by Shontaine on 01.26.2011
  38. Grandma asked “Are you a lesbian?”

I laughed, “Why would you ask.”

    “You have short hair,”she said.

    “So do you,” I answered.

  39. My relatives are coming to get me, but I’ve never met them. Strange how a family is formed, and there are always secrets always quirks and you think your family is the weirdest. Apparently my father isn’t my real father, apparently my mother had an affair and that’s why everyone always commented how I didn’t look like my siblings, how my mother stopped looking at me with pride…and instead, guilt.

(Note: this is not actually the case with my family, this is made up)

  40. I have seven people in my family. I am the mom, I am married with five children. We are an ostentatious lot. I do not like to do things the conservative way so we have an unusual upbringing for our children. They are free to speak what is on their mind with no repercussions at all.
