Samantha took her time choosing a pool cue from the rack and turned around slowly–very slowly–to face the table. Anything to delay the humiliation she was sure she was about to suffer at the hands of her date.

The water pooled around her feet as she stood in the bathroom staring at the foggy mirror.
The shower was still running, and she frowned as the knock on the door happened again.
Grabbing a towel she debated whether or not she should answer, or let opportunity go by.

You’d better start thinking.
This wine tastes like blood
and the pool I used to walk to
is abandoned and empty
I could climb over the fence
and walk in from the shallow end
down towards the 10 feet mark.
I’d bring my wine that’s not wine anymore,
and wait for you
to come and join me.

I started thinking that this probably wasn’t a good idea. Typically, at 3 am, not many ideas turn out to be jewels, but this one was even less likely to win an award. But, I’m a rebel, and that “No Diving” sign was glaring me down.

I read a story about a kid who use to masturbate by placing his anus on top of the jets at the bottom of his pool and allowing the suction to please him. He later almost drowns and has to pull out his intestines to survive. It was funny, in an odd way.

Heading for the pool, she realized she had forgotten her suntan lotion, so she went back into the house and heard the song “Summer Breeze” playing on the radio she had left on, and she suddenly felt immersed in a cool envelope of peace, in the shady room, in she swam in the air of the ideal.

It was prom night. And he had grabbed her hand and led her to the pool. He unzipped her dress from the back and let it fall. She stepped out of her dance and made a run for the pool. It wasn’t too long before he joined her.

I loved the paddling pool at Barbourne Park when I was a child. I remember with fondness the warm Summer days and shrieks and yells of what seemed like hundreds of children!

It was cold! Freezing, bloody cold. Who’d convinced him to participat in this madness? He couldn’t even swim roperly: there were ten-year olds in there going faster than he was: if he wasn’t so tall he’d be underwater. Oh well. He’d agreed to it and it was time to man up: he lifted his feet off the bottom and began thrshing his way toward the other side of the pool.

oh my god he just jumped into the pool and saved that girl. What a hero. Too bad he didn’t know how to swim himself and almost drowned with her if it wasn’t for that dog. I think the animal was smarter than both people.

i love going to the pool. something about getting in a body of cool refreshing water, where you can in fact, see your feet, is one of the most rewarding things about a hot summer day.

Chlorine-soaked bodies which reek of clinical recreation. Among the ripples is a strand, a smokey effluvia trail of crimson as blood pools along the floor.

I always wanted a swimming pool of my own. Something very private and sunny. And I finally got it! Privacy fencing, refreshing clear water at just the right temperature and I could hear my horses walking around in the pasture. Ahhh, the good life.

there is a pool of sweat collecting on the small of my back, it leaks through and stains my clothing, will this heat ever end? will the autumn finally come and cool my boiling blood?

I miss my pool. I can’t use the one here – it’s for real swimmers only. I wish I could swim better, I’m a good swimmer, but I’m competitive. Competetive. First one. Yeah. I like swimming by myself. Just me and the water. Everywhere. Enveloping without smothering. A nice feeling.
