  5. I always take the subway to the city when I am free because I love adventure. I would either explore the urban area – walk among skyscrapers, read books in adorable cafes, or attend a live show at a local bar, or explore the woods – look for ravines and creeks, sit on rocks to ponder upon life, or take in the greenery. Either one works fine for me. So even though the train drops me off in the middle of nowhere, I would make the trip worth while.

It’s the tourist trap you hit on the way to Productivity when you make a wrong turn at Priority. It’s the place no one ever wants to go, but it’s so close and easy to get to that you just might find yourself there if you don’t watch the signs. All bad roads lead there, and you won’t see a single speed limit–at least until you hit the city, then everything slows down. It’s a place known for its comforts, but you’ll be bored of them long before you’re done. The Biggest Little Town in Life; Where There’s Always A Room.

  20. Once it had become clear that they could not keep up with the mutations of the virus, they had accelerated an ongoing project to colonise another planet. It had started as an experiment when the planet had been discovered, intending to send a few hundred colonists to survive for a year then come back, but once it became clear that they could not continue human life on earth, the experiment became the world’s top priority. Experts from all nations figured out in just a few short months how to expand the plan from a few hundred to a few hundred thousand, and how to make all aspects of life sustainable. One thing, Morris now noted, that they had not devoted their energies to was the fact that he now had laundry to do, and nowhere to hang it up to dry!

    my own liquid purgatory.
    Floating.
    Existing.
    With no goals,
    no ideals,
    no nothing to call home.

  39. The middle of nowhere felt more like home to me than my family house had ever been. Now, as I popped open the trunk of my car to fetch a bottle of water, I could feel a strange bubble of comfort growing inside my chest as I looked up at the bare-boned night sky.
