  1. Maroon is not a very good color for boys but its fine for girls. Maroon is similar with purple but purple is good.

  2. it is the most AMAZING colour EVER! i find it so amazing because it is one of the many different shades you can make by simply adding a black or darker colour. it has been used to describe not only colour by emotion as well. a famous band is called maroon five because they liked the colour AND the emotion! that is it for the word MAROON

  3. I’ve always had a thing for reds and maroon is a red. While I’m not an Aggie, as my home state would suggest, I do still find a place for maroon. It’s such a bold color and makes such a statement. I had a cute little lamp that was maroon. If only it hadn’t had been a purse shape. I really loved the color.

  4. This make me think of the band, Maroon 5. I believe they are fairly talented though they are becoming more and more mainstream as they progress musically. No I’m not a hipster either. I enjoyed their first album, “songs about Jane” quite a bit and I was quite young at the time. They are worth a listen to.

  5. maroon 5
    the color of my tshirt
    my friends favorite color
a new color for fall fashion
not a color of the rainbow
    a deep color
    makes me want to cry

  6. Maroon is the title of a short story I read once, about a southern girl whose cousin gave herself an abortion. It was a weird story. I liked it though, because it was bittersweet and well written and just made sense to me.

Also, ASU colors are maroon and gold. Ew, ASU.

  7. warm comforting, it sort of pushes you along, a vehicle on a road where you don’t know exactly where you’re going. It’s a bit dissapproving at times, the color of velvet dresses on christmas, the home of plastic smiles and martinis. I feel the fakeness underneath and the deceptive nature of it, the way it doesn’t seem to mesh with reality and is rooted in fantasy by pretending to be earthy.

    by Callie on 07.07.2011
  8. 5.

  9. Maroon? Why, the first thing to come to mind is the band Maroon 5. Naturally. But, that would be cliche and unfair to such a wonderful color, now wouldn’t it? Maroon, oh maroon. You’re a great color. You get a lot of shit from red, but you’re pretty fucking classy. I’d pick you over Apple Red any day.

  10. maroon is a color, a time, a place, and it can mean so many things to one person while meaning nothing to another. what does it mean to me, to you?

  11. there it was, the crazy, weird fruit sitting on my coffee table. what was it? it looked like an orange, but it was maroon. i didn’t want to touch it. so i just sat. stared. wondered. I reached out, took a bite. And it all changed.

  12. i saw the maroon scarf around the girls neck and knew i had to have it. it was all i wanted…because it reminded me of him. it reminded me of a better time, a better place, and hope…it made me realize all that i had lost in such a short time. it made me happy.

  13. I am maroon. Too bad for me

  14. Maroon sweaters on a fall day. Maroon boots too. Maroon is a color that I have a hard time pinpointing, it could be brick red or burgundy. Who knows.

  15. an ugly color. reminds me of virginia tech which remonds me of getting drunk which reminds me of football which reminds me of alabama and how much I hated it there which reminds me of how lucky I am to have been able to transfer to charleston because I love it here. I love the sunshine, the beach, living in the city, meeting new people who are going to be my friends for a really long time. Maroon is also the color of charleston :)

  17. Maroon is a color. Looks pretty good as a hair color, and as a paint. There’s really not a whole lot someone can say about a single color. It’s a mix of red and purple, though I’m not sure what percentages of which is included. It’s a color. Tha’t seriously it. All I can think of. Some people would argue some other colors look like maroon, but aren’t maroon. Oh, Maroon 5 is a band. Just thought of that.

    by Amanda on 07.07.2011
  18. it’s a color…kinda like a darkish red brown. i remember when my sister played on a soccer team, their jersey color was maroon…they weren’t very good. i think that was when janae played goalie or defense…i can’t remember exactly except i’d always want to join in.

  19. When I see a maroon colored object, I have no choice but to fall in love with it. A simple reminder of a childhood book, Marooned, starring Bugs Bunny comes to mind. Instantly I have Marvin the Martian visions, and all is full of love. I simply adore the color and the thoughts associated with this word. Pleasant. Beautiful. Simple. Adore.

  20. maroon pies, i don’t quite like lies, but they are alright, if accompanied by a kite, which I shall fly into the never-ending sky, forever in bloom, ripe enough soon, just like us two, without a clue.

  21. I was marooned on a deserted island with a really hot guy. The problem with this logistically was the lack of toothpaste on the island. Luckily, I found a way to make a paste with salt water, sand and tree bark. This way we didn’t gross each other out with our nasty morning breath.

  22. A hogwarts color often encrusted by gold to signify the courage and bravery contained within each selected student. Displaying proudly the bold hearts than Grffyindor possesses to itself.

  23. Left me. I was just a kid. Now you want a relationship.

    No.

    Acting like nothing ever happened.

    No.

I refuse to become another one of your victims.

    No.

  24. Maroon 5 was on her mind. It was all she could think about. Maybe it was because she could relate to their songs more than ever now or maybe it’s because she has an infatuation with Adam

    by Naomi on 07.07.2011
  25. I already got this word. The same thoughts apply.

  26. Even if her maroon eyes intimidated him, Roma continued to care for his spunky pal.

Because that’s what friends were for, right?

    …Right?

  27. what to do when no inspiration surfaces you and smacks you on the cheek vibrating to your fingers, giving you no option to write it out?
maroon like red, deep red, which i like
does it come to surfaced wordiness of nothingness and no meaning?
    that isn’t what it’s about
is it better to not write anything?

    by jillmjacobs on 07.07.2011
  28. maroon. harry potter. ron. griphondor–err–gryffondor–ummm–gr–i have no idea how to spell this. and i call myself a Harry Potter fan! oh look. i spent my entire time trying to spell that one word. oops.

  29. That just reminds me of the band, Maroon 5. Except, I hate talking about specific things when writing, because it makes everything dated. Oh well.

Once, my friend Megan and I made a list of the “Top Five Most Attractive Male Celebrities,” and the lead singer of Maroon 5 won. I mean, it was really her list, seeing as I don’t know who half the people on the list are.

  30. That car is definitely maroon. There’s no other car like it. I always know whose it is; I always know who’s driving it. It is simply maroon.

    by Hannah on 07.07.2011
  31. Maroon?? what the hell kind of word is that? It’s the colour of our dang State of Orange team, which I Just don’t care about that much… I suppose it’s like, I’m supposed to support my home state in the sports endeavours etc. but I just can’t bring myself to care about a sports game! Maybe if that’s how they decided politics or something… but then my caring about it has no bearing on the outcome so how could you ever?

At least in a computer game I’m controlling an avatar and can thus help determine the outcome, but in sports you’re just hoping the bnumbers work out for you.

  32. Maroon. Color drenched in red and purples. More than a color, it’s a preference. Its just red to most people, yet they forget to really look at the depth of it. Or, Maroon five, soft music, memories. Gah.

  33. “G-O…..Let’s Go Quakers! G-O Let’s GO!” One of the best parts about high school were the football games. When the students that were enrolled in the same school were not against each other but against the other school. For one night it united us. Or at least it would seem that way. Unity will never be a reality. Diversity to me is what makes the world so incredible yet it is what scares people the most. It’s hard to believe that the people who do not accept those who are different from them, would rather live in a world where everyone was the same. If that were the case, we would be robots. We might as well not exist at all.

  34. bugs bunny.

    he always called people “maroons.”

it was an insult. but when i was a kid, i didn’t know any better.

“What a maroon!” he’d say, and we laughed.

Bugs Bunny, teacher of words. who knew?

  35. Maroon 5. Reminds me of Mallory. Reminds me of you, reminds me of how much I miss you. Also reminds me of Taylor, of Indiana. Of jealousy. I really don’t like her. What if she touches you, what if she tell you she loves you? What if she kisses you? What if you kiss her back?

    by Niki on 07.07.2011
  36. Maroon is the color I had to wear for four years of my life. It’s a color I’ll never have to wear again against my will. Actually, I don’t look bad in maroon. I look good in dark colors, it compliments my skin tone. Maroon is like burgundy.

    by K Veith on 07.07.2011
  37. i stumbled out of the portal into this new world. where the sky is maroon and their are two suns and magic exists.
the one that will fall apart in days if i don’t do anything about it.

  38. The color maroon reminds me of something. Baloons. Maroon balloons, haveyou ever seen one of those? I know I haven’t. Maroon, reminds me of a sweater. Or jacket. Lauretta’s jacket. The one she wore in france, the one she stopped wearing.
