  10. i locked up the door and ran out the house. he was following me. i didn’t know what i had done, i didn’t know why he was after me. but i didn’t even have time to ponder why. so i just ran, and ran, and ran. the brass key grasped tightly in my palm, i could feel my sweat making it uncomfortable. but my fits were locked in position and my eyes focused ahead of me, a blur of green and brown, leaping over sticks and logs, not knowing where i was going, not knowing where i came from. i couldn’t feel my breath, i couldn’t feel my feet, i could just hear my heart, thump, thump, thump. “why did you do it? SPEAK.” He had said, his arm firmly plastered me against the wall. I could feel him getting angrier and angrier than he already was, when i stared at him with a confused, blank, expression. and that’s when i ran.

  18. I never know what to do when I get to a locked door. Do I knock? Do I ignore it? What’s happening? What am I missing out on because of that unturnable doorknob? It makes me feel so left out on some sort of secret. Maybe I’m not good enough to know that secret. Maybe, it’s a secret about me. But what I don’t know can’t hurt me. What I don’t know is not a reality to me.

  24. the door was locked and that means no one is able to enter the room that is hidden behind it. The locked door can contain so many different things that the possibilities are only limited to ones imagination. The things behind the locked door may be faboulous or they may be dangerous or even plain dull or nothing at all. A locked container or door presents a temptation for all humans to enter and find out whats in it or behind the door.

  33. Life is a highway, or so I’m told. It’s a journey through which I’m supposed to be able to find myself. I trip and stumble blindly, reaching my fingers uselessly into the dark, trying to find my way. But sometimes it feels like the doorknob in my hand is locked, and my future won’t let me in. 35. I lock my doors every night… and then double and triple check them to make sure that they’re properly closed. I fear the outside while I’m in my apartment at night — the anxieties of a single female living alone in a college town. I like being independent and yet I fear not having a sort of man around the house for protection. I feel pathetic.

She.gave. up.
