  3. Here is a word I don’t hear a bunch. Lamp, or candle, you still hear those a lot in 2010. Lantern? First thing that comes to mind is someone on horseback, riding through some colonial town. And I imagine one breaking, and setting the land on fire. Depressing, huh?

  18. The soft glow of the lantern filled the corner of the room. It was propped upon Amelia’s bed in front of her legs that were pulled up to her chest. The power had gone out for 2 hours now. Amelia was curled up on her bed waiting for Demitri, who had gone to find the breaker to see if a switch had been thrown. A flash of lighting filled the room as the heavy wooden door swung open illuminating Demitri in the threshold of the door holding his own lantern looking a tad annoyed. Then following the lighting a loud crack of thunder filled the room causing Amelia to squeal in horror and squeeze her knees tighter to her chest.

  34. i went camping and i brought my lantern. I have had this lantern since i was just a little girl. I remember when i went camping with my father and his drinking buddy we brought this latern with us and they got drunk and dropped it, it caught the floor of the cabin on fire. thankfully the whole cabin didn’t go up in flames. the end.
