Loving is so easy when you don’t expect it.

  9. Is lit. It is lit like a bumble bee while I watch justin bieber say I should smile while he does. It is kinda weird watching someone under 5 ft and a girly voice tell me to smile but its like a lantern!

  10. The darkness consumed the night. In the horizon, luminous houses lit up the skyline. I felt so out of place here, yet so at home.

  11. The light by which one is guided.
“You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.” is one of my favorite quotes. It’s written inside my car, and it remidns me of the time i walked home form the neighbors in a snowstorm with just a flashlight. Brillant.

  12. Somehting you need to use in the dark to see. It ususally has a wick that you light with a fire and it golws. Other lanterns might be used outside to hang for a light source

I rushed over to the stump where I’d set my empty lantern before tucking them inside and hastily shutting the lid to close them in. I watched as they flickered on and off repeatedly, crawling around the inside of the glass.

  19. Lanterns are very useful when filming short videos about travelers. Lanterns represent not only the security of having light to see ahead, but a metaphorical knowledge in a sea of confusion. Lanterns act as a beacon, but also stress the unknown outside of the area in which we are comfortable.

  21. That lantern’s been hanging there for years. It doesn’t work anymore, doesn’t cast light through the darkness. But still, it’s still there. I don’t think Gran has the strength to take it down, since Grandad was the one to hang it there, nearly 30 years ago, before anyone had ever thought that he’d die so young.

  22. One day i was in the park and found an old lantern on the ground. When i went to pick it up i found a weird liquid inside of it. I wasn’t sure what it was but im sure it was for the lanter, an oil r something.

  23. Thinking back, I’ve really been a pussy all my life. Not trying to get into a good college, staying in on the weekends according to my parents, getting walked all over by countless girls… I’m glad I threw all that behind my back. I’m glad I’m laying here, in a tent, in the middle of the city park, next to this naked woman, who may or may not have a venereal disease, I met this afternoon at a protest outside a coffee shoppe. No, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

    “Come here gorgeous!”
And I turn out the lantern.

  28. Lanterns remind me of a Vietnamese holiday. The lanterns are mainly held by kids..although it’s scary because sometimes one kid will bump into another and one of the lanterns, if not both, catch on fire. Then one person is lanternless.

    sorry.

  33. The lantern was dim next to the trampoline. I was lying down on the warm summer night looking up at the stars, letting my mind go blank and thinking of nothing except for this endless summer and all the journeys to come. I look forward to every second of life and close my eyes, beginning to sing “Seasons of Love”, my favorite song that we sung in 8th grade choir.

They make me think of things that are old, and traditional, like they’d be comforting to see in someone’s house, but not nesscessarily appealing.

    by Olivia on 05.22.2010
  37. The kids showed off their lanterns proudly during the festival. Colourful and unique is each one of them. “Mine is the best!” boasted the girl over there. The other boy hid in the corner because he had no money to buy one.

  39. Latern. What can I say about this beakon of light that has been used for centuries to guide us on a quest. What kind of quest is dependent upon the person. It can be a quest for a particular destination, or it can be a metaphor for a quest for truth, insight, or knowledge. All who wander are not lost. However, if they are lost, laterns have the ability to guide them home. They are a symbol hope.

  40. The flame is famous to the one whom it guides. Without it they would be blind, it is sight to the person who it guides down a dark corridor. Before electricity. Gasoline lanterns. Camping
