  25. Crossing the street I looked up and saw him, a broken resemblance of someone I once loved: heart splayed, weary eyed and wandering, in search of something I would have found attractive once. I can see the stranger in his eyes and I need not ask the questions that might once have plagued my nights.

  37. Roads cross and the sidewalks do too, and people cross and cars drive, but the really amazing thing is when lives intersect. People change other people. We are not ourselves, but a combination of every person we have ever met. Every friend we have ever had. Every teacher who taught us. Everyone. Each person that has touched your life has made you into who you are. And when lives intersect, inevitably they separate again. But perhaps with the knowledge that you’ve gained, you’ll be able to move on a bit stronger than before.

  40. The intersection in the road was quite intruiguing to Emily. It had at least ten different paths it seemed, each covered with a different thing: branches, rocks, leaves, and all the other elements of the forest. She looked in the middle of all the roads, and saw a fairy laying there, its body limp and pale with the Florida sun seeming to beat down on it uncomfortably.
