  1. It kind of bugs me that the microwave is rotating counterclockwise. You would think that the turntable would spin in the other direction, but it doesn’t. I stare at Zooey and her inundated characters, and I wish I was just as quirky.

  2. Fate brings the word destiny to mind, but fate itself is what is meant to be. It is a set path for you; something that is destined to happen, that you actually happen upon. It reminds me of love. You want to find your true love so you leave it to fate to bring a person around.

  7. it’s fate that i’m sick again with a chest infection as exactly a year ago. Or is it my disregard for general health?

I can’t keep blaming fate for my misgivings. Time to take control over my life.

    by SR on 08.30.2009
  8. I am not sure If I belive in fate. We have choices in life and what would be the point in that. They even speak of us having choices in the Bible. So it seems if you belive in the bible you don’t belive in fate.

    by Stephanie on 08.30.2009
  9. What is fate? What is anyone’s fate? You’re destined to rule all of England, reign over all the land. But another is destined to scrub toilets for less than minimum wage, illegally paid. That’s fate.

  15. something that isnt real, just another reason for people to not take responsibility for their actions, meaning they can just say oh it was fate, yet it gives people something to look foward to.

    by Will on 08.30.2009
  16. fate is imminent… it will happen and you can’t stop it. Do not try to run or hide because it will get you. it is after you and you are after it.

    by Michael Shane on 08.30.2009
  17. fate is something we can not control even though we like to think that it controls us. I we like to think that we are our own masters but when it comes to faith we always declare ourselves incapable of doing anything.

    by Adela on 08.30.2009
  18. enevitable. What happens with what is supposed to happen. Like meeting the love of your life inside an elevator

    by maria on 08.30.2009

  22. Fate, it comes like a wind. Your plans, they mean nothing to fate. In the end, you will find yourself on the path that was ordained for you, and nothing you try will ever prevent that.

    by Adam on 08.30.2009
  23. no choice. all things are predetermined and i will make the decisions I am supposed to. people and things will enter my life at the right time and i will usually forget that fate is real. i will usually be absorbed and tricked by this world.

    by alex galbate on 08.30.2009
  24. If the universe is deterministic then everything is fated to happen. But there’s no reason why there’s any sense of organization, any higher authority, because it would be predestined too. So basically, some of us get screwed.

    by Nikon on 08.30.2009
  25. hahaha as if i have something to say about fate, as if you can write about it this quickly, as if i would let it effect my life in the way that something like love or hate does. as if. because fate isn’t comfortable enough to hold in your hands, you can’t embrace it the way you can the others.

    by michelle on 08.30.2009
  26. The determination within her eyes gave off the illusion of fate.
As if the achieving of her life goals was in some way a fluke – as if anyone else in her situation could do what she did.
Some say she was fated to become the savior of humanity, but in reality, fate and destiny do not exist.
She is just a huge bad-ass.

    by Y on 08.30.2009
  27. fate is something that always gets linked back to religious following. why can’t it be that one person decides what it is that they’re going to do for the rest of their lives of their own volition without it having to relate back to some sort of higher meaning? why can’t the fact that i’ve decided that i will get married mean just that my efforts and my efforts alone will get me there and not some god or deity?

    by lauren on 08.30.2009
  28. The day I met Tyler was the day I began to believe in fate. How could one man meet one woman like this? At a shitty football party I had no desire to be at in the first place? It was me ability to just give in and allow myself to be taken to places I had no idea or certainty about that led me to my one true live. Tyler, my tattooed rocker boy at a frat football party.

    by Ashley on 08.30.2009
  29. i’m gonna fall into the fate. a giant pit of fate. out of the walls are gonna flow what absorbs me and my thoughts for the rest of my life as i keep falling toward a bottom i’m not sure is there. that’s what fate is.. it never ends, so things keep happening. there is no end to fate. if it hasn’t happened, it’s not over. that’s fate. it’s late, but not dead. dead.

    by shayne on 08.30.2009
  30. i knew it was fate when we met. i just didnt think the fate was in me being alone and waiting for you this long.

    by B on 08.30.2009
  31. Something I can’t change. Not that I try to, I just wish that it would tell me where it was taking me before I ended up in a ditch. But perhaps beyond the ditch is something more fabulous than I could imagine on my own. And maybe it’s not fate at all, but predestined. At least that’s what I think.

    by Jennifer on 08.30.2009
  32. As fate would have it, I was going to be doing a surveillance shift that evening. I wondered if I could get Ranger to along with me. I usually drive him nuts on such shifts but it is also a time I sometimes get a chance to get to know him better. After all, if he doesn’t want me squirming around he knows he needs to give me something else to focus on, such as talking.

    by Tricia on 08.30.2009
  33. “Do you believe in fate?” she asks. Her question catches me off guard, but she doesn’t wait for me to answer. “Because I don’t. I think we have more control over our lives than we think.”

She pauses and smiles a bit.

“At least that’s what I thought until I fell in love with you.”

  34. Everyone has a fate. Everyone can change their fate. It’s given to you at birth, but you can easily change it at any time, on purpose or on accident. Any decision can change your future and what will happen to you. Nothing is permanent. Everything is able to be changed.

    by Brit on 08.30.2009
  35. not sure if it’s real. you have some say in what happens, so i think you choose your fate. i also think it’s kind of a scary idea.

    by Hannah on 08.30.2009
  36. He looked at her with wide eyes.

He knew that meeting her, again, in this same place, was not random chance.

They were fated to be together – whether she believed it or not. Something in the design of their lives, God had said, “These two beings will be together for the rest of their lives.”

And they were; until they grew old and die together.

    by Ayden on 08.30.2009
  37. Your fate. What about it? Is it your choice? mine? Who is to say we control our own? who has the right to control it for us? I want to choose my fate. What is fate? WHat is life? What is one without the other? WHy does it exist?

    by Lauren on 08.30.2009
  38. Fate is not something you can control. Fate is what happens to you that you did not foresee. Is it fate or random chance?

    by Larry on 08.30.2009
  39. fate is what a lot of people have for their lives. you can ruin it by not doing what you should be doing. if you want to have a good fate. but i guess that’s not the point fate means its gonna happen no matter what i was mixing it up with another word, destiny maybe…but everyone has a fate, if you believe that. i don’t because i think you can change the end

    by Hope on 08.30.2009
  40. fate is what happens when you let go of most control and let God take care of things other than what options he puts in front of you. Fate is when you finally realize what the end is within a certain project. Hopefully, fate is what you wanted when you see your outcome.
