  1. I wanted to show you an example…although as I started writing this, I automatically went into typing mode…only caring about my speed and accuracy, instead of thinking of something profound to write….interesting. Wonder what that means about me??
I just totally shifted everything around….signed up instead of finishing this little test, that’s what I usually do. Tend not to stay on one task until its completion…..oh well.

  2. I try to set a good example for Sweetie. Be polite, learn a lot, do your chores. But all too often I think – no, I know – that she is the one setting a good example for us.

  3. Lead by example. Lead by example.
I must be something for someone else.
I must be successful to be a role model for somebody else.

    But who was my example?
Who have I had to look up to?
How do I know what to be for someone else,
When I don’t even know how to be Me for Me?

    First comes First.
I must find Me, to be Me, for Me before
I can be an Example for someone else.
The only way I can be a good example
for someone else is if I can let Myself
shine through and be that example.

That’s the only way to live life.

That’s the example I want to be.

    by MaeMae on 03.06.2011
  4. it shows you what someone was expecting. its like hey im here to show u wat someone else wants . im here to show u what someone else expects. but im going to break free from that i never follow examples becaus i am my own person and im creating my own path

    by Sarah on 03.06.2011
  5. Be an example. Someone that is looked up to. Someone that people can be inspired by. Just be someone you want to be! But please, don’t make an example out of me. It’s nothing I want, nothing I can be. So please, don’t make an example out of me.

  6. If you are the set example
    then my equation does not
    equal X.

    Y should I be <
    what I know
    = greatness.

  7. Is example the work I am meant to write about or… is this an example of the way the program works? confused but intrigued. I love that that one word has spell check because while I love to write, typos are examples* of things that happen regularly to me, as a writer.

    by Jessa Hochman on 03.06.2011
  8. Example reminds me of being a middle child. You see an older sister as an example, and you feel what it does to you, and then you go to your little siblings and see how you are theirs. It’s wacky.

    by Deirdre on 03.06.2011
  9. it’s something that can tell you about another thing. it may be small, short or quick. but either way, it’s supposed to help you understand something else that you’re not seeing. an example can be colorful or exciting. it can be dull or bland. it might be totally confusing, especially if you’re totally unfamiliar with whatever the example is supposed to represent.

    by wunderlust on 03.06.2011
  10. It gave me an example and I tried to picture it. Nocturnal. Raccoon. I pictured the little devils up to their michevious ways in the dark. Figures. Why do they even need a mask in the dark, anyway?

    by Laura on 03.06.2011
  11. I can’t find the in-between. For example: my senses are dull from this cold, I have been switching between exhaustion and elatement all week. Pitch club today: fun with the girls but no energy to feed them. Made a 4 mile run happen this morning though.

  12. give us an example. tell us about it. how about I DON’T FREAKING KNOW? nothing can be just stated or believed, you always have to have proof and damn those of us with emotions, those don’t count, the only thing is reason and scientific knowledge and proof. who cares what’s in our hearts? who cares what we feel? it doesn’t matter, give an EXAMPLE. nothing else but that, can’t you see that it’s what we’re looking for?

    by kelsey on 03.06.2011

  15. An example is given when comparing an object to another, or when explaining the meaning of something. For example, this example shows what an example is.

    by Anna on 03.06.2011
  16. There was nothing on the paper except for that terrible example. I don’t understand how my teacher would’ve thought that just by reading that simple example I would understand a whole week worth of lectures. There was nothing I could do, except read it over and weep.

    by Miranda on 03.06.2011
  17. shit. i just did this one. and it was pretty good. damn.
well, do we all use examples for ourselves that others give? or do we need to have our own examples to help us learn or understand something more. like someone else’s just wouldn’t cut it. like you have to learn your own way. or learn it yourself, not through someone else’s words or experiments.

  18. examples are used to explain something. “For example” is commonly used amongst writing however its a bit elementary.

  19. is there an example for everything? or do we see examples from others, but not think to use them for ourselves. we sometimes must have our own examples to really understand the lesson or what is taught. also, examples help us understand more or less, confuse or help. this is an example of rushedness.

    by Alana on 03.06.2011
  20. We all make examples of ourselves, displaying a uniform image which we have created to the world, to those who we think will judge us, in order to glean acceptance from them. We follow examples, create examples, but never simply live. Simply live.

    by Brad on 03.06.2011
  21. when i give you an example of something this will happen and when i think of example man you have no idea what i’ve been through i’ll give you an example problem on the board that’s what sue jordan always says i hate her class it makes me feel like an outcast especially after lunch when i feel so free i hate that i never feel free anymore i feel so confined and lost but actually i don’t but inside i do is it a happy face or is it just plain happy?

  23. This word written on the English tests, it kills me to see this; to state why and to “give an example”. I swear this word makes my heart sink. i feel bad for the word, of course it has no feelings, but still. “Example” is thought the same by everybody, a heart-sinking, depressing word that makes you sigh.

    by Hiyori Takashima on 03.06.2011
  24. an example of this project is to use the word example. it is a funny word, sounds funny and if you say it too many times, it has no meaning. it is like a former sample. More than ample.

    by Randi on 03.06.2011
  25. It’s hard to set an example for someone, especially if you yourself are not the right kind of person to be speaking from so-called “experience”. If you aren’t an expert and you’r required to set an example, do you then become a hypocrite if you try to? How can you be “perfect” if you fail already?

    by Kasey on 03.06.2011
  26. This is the perfect example of not thinking things through. I’m so logical that I’m willing to go against my teacher. I’m so obsessed with results and answers that I’ve failed to become a friend. My heart feels so heavy right now.

    by yunisee on 03.06.2011
  27. example always makes me think of statistics. in problems, it’s always us doing an example of the formula we just learned. this also makes me think of my very hot, very sexy stats professor. oh the things i would do to that man. i wish he wasn’t married, but i will still shamelessly flirt with him.

    by jamie on 03.06.2011
  28. Well, for example, some people are incapable of generating text about concrete examples. As an example, I’d like to cite this exercise . . . . what a boring word to write about.

    by Bobby on 03.06.2011
  29. You are the example. You are the one whom I desire to be, and to be with. However, you are simply an example, it’ll never happen, You are too good for me to follow.

  30. why again. . .it’s like a hollow promise. . .and that is not why i have started it . . . cause the challenge must be bigger than this word “example”

  31. for example, one might say that beauty follows the highest of humanity whilst ugliness is reserved for the low. but i for example, could find beauty on the floor. i could if necessary find the sumptuous curves of passion and the idyllic against the pipes from which the city’s excrement flows.

  36. I want to make an example of myself
    100 years or so
I’ll show you what life can be
    wrong and right
    do and don’t
I want to make an example of myself
and who knows what it means

  37. the thing that helps you learn. good or bad. for example. what kind of example am i to my children, my employees? how does example differ from sample? i’m done.

  38. There was always that voice in the back of her mind that reminded her that everything she did was setting an example for her little sister, and that is the reason she stayed the person she was meant to be.

    by mary on 03.06.2011
  39. They asked me for an example in class. I hate when they ask for examples. You answer a question and then they always ask you to support your answer with EXAMPLES from the text. It’s so dumb. If you know it’s right and they know it’s right then why prove yourself… I swear the most used phrase in teaching is “For example…”

    by Meelia on 03.06.2011
  40. setting a place in time to leave behind a part of the past for others to follow even though most of the lessons will never be learned until the individual can self recognize what needs to be adapted …funny how us humans are. Ya think?
