What is my destiny? I’d like to find out… Some people obsess over it… going to supposed psychics… it’s quite silly, really. Life isn’t meant to be foreseen.
I don’t know what my destiny is. I guess that’s kind of the point of destiny, isn’t it? And sometimes I get so goddamn frustrated because I have no fucking idea what to do next. I mean, destiny can’t really exist, can it? I dunno if it can. Unless there is some stupid master plan or something out there. But if we’re always changing our mind- and I’m ALWAYS changing my mind, how do we know that that is what we are supposed to do? It can’t ALL be right, can it? I mean, every single choice we make in our stupid, insignificant lives can’t be completely and one hundred percent correct EVERY time. So we change our destiny, don’t we? Unless it was our destiny to change our minds. I mean, stuff, even little stuff we forget about- it’s forever changing our lives, at least a little bit, isn’t it? I mean, if I was walking on the sidewalk, and I stepped in a puddle or something. Say I had on my new shoes. Wouldn’t that kind of suck? Wouldn’t I be more careful next time, to avoid notorious puddles? Wouldn’t I be pissed off the next time I wore an outfit that would go perfectly with that particular pair of shoes, which I can no longer wear, because I have soiled them with dirty water and gasoline rainbows? I dunno. Maybe not. But I just don’t really know how I feel about destiny. I guess all it’s really taught me is to wear rubber boots on rainy days.
My destiny is yet to be determined. I’d like to think it’s one thing, and then something happens to change it entirely and I’m left wondering “What the fuck did I do wrong, and what do I do now?”
“I don’t believe in destiny,” she said.
“Really?” he asked, scraping the chalk with the heel of his shoe. “That’s awfully unusual. I’ve never heard a hero say ‘oh, no, this isn’t fate, this is all me, man.'”
She wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue at him. “I’m serious. You’re just bitter.”
Destiny is probably fiction. A made up concept that lets us prtend that there is a pattern and purpose to the randomness of life. Or maybe it’s real and defines us.
Sigh. Destiny. I truly believe that one chooses his or her own destiny. Life is what you make it. If you want something to happen, plant the seeds to reap the harvest.
I can see why other people might believe in destinies. It’s comforting to think that your life has already been planned out for you, that there’s a perfect job, perfect lover, perfect life waiting for you out there somewhere. I just find it impossible to believe in.
I knew this girl once named Destiny. She was a giant slut who showed me her step mom’s hickey. Her dad was also a hoe who said my mom was hot. Destiny also had this older sister who was like, only 12 and did a bunch of dudes.

oh yeah, i definitely don’t believe in destiny. it kinda falls under the category of predestination, which is another thing i dont trust. i think every person has the ability to give themselves their own purpose in life.
