  4. He didn’t know whether to put on the red or white tablecloth. PRacticality or obnoxious aesthetic… if he could even call it obnoxious. Today was special, but he didn’t know how to make it even mroe special for her. All he had done was to cook, and cooking was his forte. It was the art of the set-up that he failed at. Despite perusing the many hundreds and thousands of websites online he had yet to find something that she liked.

    “Hullo?”

Oh shit, she’s back. Screw it. White tablecloth, candles lit, red roses and a whirlwind in twenty seconds.

  5. Whenever I think of decorations, I think of holidays.
the twinkling lights from the trees and houses, making them appear like glowing candy houses in the night
The little eggs scurried in the grass during easter, filling the minds of children with bunnies and joy.
The round cranberries garnishing the skin of the turkey, making it glow all the more golden.

  6. It always takes a long time to decorate for Christmas. All our decorations are kept in a box in our storage room, and during the year tons of stuff always gets piled ontop of the box. Usually my dad gets the box out, but sometimes I have to help. I’m really not good at heavy lifting, but I do my best.

I would tell my children of these conquests, not because these were tales inscribed in my memory, but because I was always reminded to read behind the medal for a full story of that victory.

  9. Christmas! Birthdays! Halloween! Decorations express every holiday. It’s what makes a holiday special. I love decorations and everyone has their favorite way to show themselves through their decorations. I love making my own decorations especially with children. They have wonderful imaginations and are so creative when it comes to decorating. Decorating brings people together.

  10. The tree had been so heavily decorated that I was afraid it would either: a) set on fire or b) fall over. Maggie’s eyes had been lit up along with those stringy, twinkling lights, staring ahead at it with her jaw slack. It didn’t matter to me that my living room could set on fire. As long as she’s happy.

  25. “Dulce et decorum est….” and I can’t remember how the rest goes. Something about carts of eyeless bodies wheeled away by the pile-full, and the whizzing of fiery metals past your ears, and the acrid grasp of dead body stunk, which wriggles up inside your upper nasal passages and makes a fist around your medula. Hung up proudly along pillared halls walls of white silent immobile marble.

  26. It took me about three seconds flat to wipe that superior smirk off her face. Angrily, I tore down the decorations she had so painstakingly made the day prior. The only thing I could think of to say was “Why. Why, Angeline? Why him, out of everyone in the world?”

  27. The holiday decorations were absurdly beautiful in contrast with the bleak darkness of the cemetery I stood in. A blind man could probably tell that it was Christmas, just by the jolly scent of the sugar cookies and candy canes. But it was anything but uplifting here, for me. All I felt was deep hollowness inside.

During this time of year, the bright colored decorations seemed too bright, the people too merry, and the carolers too loud. As I stood in front of the grave, her grave, I couldn’t help but despise the happy spirits around me, wishing this could be the most wonderful time of the year for me as well. But I knew all hope for that was lost, buried away like my mother was in the ground below my feet, never to rise again.

  28. i love decorations at Christmas time i could decorate everything in sight except i don’t have anyone to decorate for i like Halloween too because there are so many cool and spooky things you can design and make and decorate like cupcakes and cookies and jelly worm bowls i just wish i had kids or a family to do this for i feel so lonely sometimes without a family

  35. The decorations were almost all in place, in order, arranged just the way she wanted them to be. Each balloon was blown up with exactly seven large breaths. The streamers were each three meters long and wound six times before being connected from one corner of the room to another. The table was adorned with a lavish tablecloth, a dark purple–her favorite color. Yes, everything was almost in place.

  36. Decorations can be found anywhere. They are in houses. sometimes they are in malls. decorations have many letters. i like decorations. it comes from the root word of decor. in spanish decorations are similar to the word. my mom has lots of decorations. i like decorations. they add flavor to a home. they are pretty. at christmas too. i like them.

  39. There is a decorating work in the church life. Day by day, we are being adorned and decorated for our wonderful Bridegroom to return. As such, the Word as displayed in Hebrews 4:12 is akin to Ephesians 3 in the beautifying and slaying work of the word. We absolutely need this word that we may go on in becoming decorative for out dear Lord!

  40. i look at lots of do it yourself decorations and think, “hey, i can do that.” and yet i never do.

my house is not decorated. it’s a hodge podge of stuff. but there are no decorations. not really.
