  13. As I layed in my bed, my big, lonely, purple plump bed, all I could think about was him. The way he looked at me, the sensation his lips left on mine, the touch of his warm hands on my skin. The television screen was black, but I knew that the power was on. I could tell by that imperceptible noise, that ripping, sharp wave of a sound that shattered against my skull and made my though whirl around to the point of sickening me. I leaned over, grabbed the controller, and pressed power. That was probably the only thing I could grasp.

  31. The ship Morris was in charge of was code named the “Panda”. There were fifty ships altogether in this “first wave” of the “Ark Project”, all named after animals. It was not lost on Morris that the animal names assigned to all the ships were of species on the verge of
extinction. The Committee had chosen these names to remind everybody that they were the last chance for their species to survive.

Two years and one week had passed since they had left the earth, and the fleet of vessels was now on final approach to the new planet. Morris and his crew were in constant contact with the air traffic controller on the surface, who was now on the first day of his new job, as this was the first traffic the base had encountered since the first settlers arrived.

It’s a complex word.

All her training, all of those hours in flight simulators, and nothing had prepared her for this. She slowly hovered a hand over the panels, lightly touching the joystick. I CAN do this.
