  1. why are coasters so common are they a type of decoration or do people really want you to put your drinks on them? some people buy fancy expensive coasters but if the whole point is not to ruin the table ? why ruin the expensive coaster? it defeats the purpose of a coaster is its more precious than the table its supposed to be protecting

  2. roller. that’s the word that popped in my head. it’s funny because i really don’t enjoy roller coasters. i hate that feeling in your gut when you go down a drop; almost as much as i hate the feeling of being hungry and waiting to eat.

    by marlon on 04.16.2010
  3. I sat the empty milk glass on the coaster. I gave in again. HWen will it stop. So many cookies int he pantry were staring me in the face. What was I to do?

  4. Wutentbarannt schrie sie mich aun und warf einen Untersetzter nach mir. “Du hast mir meinen Freund gestohlen. Wie konntest du nur? Ich dachte du w‰rst meine beste Freundin!”

  5. Coasting through life
    Up and down
    Big highs
    Low lows
    Come up quickly
    Come down faster

    Moody
    Hormonal
    Unstable

The highs are great, I am truly happy
But the lows are terrible, I am depressed.

    Can’t stop smiling
    Can’t stop crying

    Laughing and running around
Silent and curled in a ball

    It feels so good
    It hurts so much

    No real middle ground
    No real grey area

    But I love him
    And so the crushing depression
    Is pushed aside
In favour of the exhilarating happiness
    He gives me

    He sees the depression
Coaxes it out, then sends it away
    And I am happy again

    Never numb
    Not anymore
    And
    it
    feels
    great

    Can write anything
    No restrictions

    Finally happy
    Finally feeling good
    Finally understood.

    I am not a coaster
Like the thing you rest your drink on
    I don’t look like one
But some think I must be

    He doesn’t
He thinks I am the table
and the person who built the table
And he is the other table
    always by my side

    He doesn’t treat me like
    Like a subordinate
    I am equal to him
    I always am
But others put me below them.

    Why?
    It’s just a colour.
    It’s just a style.
Suck it up and know me.
Know who I am or get bent.

    Like me
    Love me
    Loathe me
    Don’t care
    Just know me
    Know I’m not a coaster
Not something for you to rest your drinks on
And know the ups and downs
    I am not always happy
    Learn that
    Know that
    Care.
    Just a little.

  6. I rode the roller coaster ten times today. Then I felt sick and had to leave. As I looked back, I noticed that my son was riding the coaster and having a great time. He seemed to think coasters were the best things ever invented. I couldn’t believe it! This certainly wasn’t how I felt. But then I thought, maybe I should try it again. So I got back on the coaster, rode it around, and got off sick again. I learned that I don’t have to be the same as my son. He can enjoy the coaster and I can watch him smile while he does it.

  7. Belch!!!
The man down at the other end of the bar is in here eveyry day and gets the sme 5 beers. I tell him he’s had enough when he has his 6th.

I asked him why he’s always inm here getting loaded the same time. He tells me that he never has the nerve to go home to his wife and tell her that he really loves her, and hopes that someday he’ll be drunk enough to say it.

    I give him a 6th beer.

  8. You know when you’re at a friend’s house? Everything is clean, tidy (mum, meticulous). You are scared to death of making a mess. You put down your cup of tea…on pine. The coffee table, that dreaded damp black ring. You should’ve used a coaster.

    by Alice on 04.16.2010
  9. I love roller coasters, they give me great joy, adrenaline and excitement. I ride them every summer and hope that I will be able to continue for the rest of my life. I love the fast and tall ones the best and they keep making more that are faster and taller.

  10. I have a insanely dirty coaster in my condo that makes me feel helpless inside. Why? Because it is so dirty that I don’t know how to clean it. Dirty from what? I have no idea…various beverages that I cannot explain here. But, do I put it in the dishwasher?

I don’t want to ruin my coaster. Dear God, I hope my coaster will be okay.

    by Matthew on 04.16.2010
  11. A coaster is a circular object: usually made out of plastic, metal or woven fabric. My coasters are made out of glass, they are very pretty. Coasters are used to protect the table from the glass of drink (usually it prevents the drink staining the wood), well that is what mum told me anyway.

    by Allie on 04.16.2010
  12. I have a coaster in my Condo that is very dirty. I wonder how coasters get so dirty? I mean, the thing has all sorts of stains from various beverages and it makes me feel helpless. Helpless…because I don’t know how to get it clean. I mean, do you put it in the dish washer? Or will that ruin it?

I don’t want to ruin my coaster. Please, dear God.

  13. coasters are on tables and they hold beverages. condensation catchers. cork, plastic, steal them from bars; a coaster could also be someone who spends their life coasting or perhaps a skateboarder, someone who roller blades, or someone who just coasts through life.

    by Jaki on 04.16.2010
  14. He sat his glass on the cork coaster, feeling the slight slip of his fingers on the condensation. He looked up at his wife, who was sitting across the room watching some terrible cop drama on TV. She always ignored him during her shows and he hated this.

  15. Coasting is something you do in a car. I’m not really sure what because I only just started learning my theory but whatever it is, it makes your brakes overheat and then they don’t work or something. I’m going to be a truly terrible driver.

  17. I like coasters, they help protect wood. setting glasses etc. on tables without putting them on a coaster first leads to rings. Nowadays, one gets some very fancy coasters- talking coasters, coasters made of fancy material, interesting coasters as well as fashionable and funky coasters. Coasters can also help to liven up a table.

  18. Down sharply and whooshing over a ground of blue with white foam, then up again; climbing towards the sun for a brief spell. Momentum is lost just as the top is reached, and the downward descent slams air into the lungs.
    I love the seaside amusements.

  20. No, no, noooooo – don’t put your beer on the table! It’ll leave a ring! Just use the damn… Bastard.

  21. For some reason my eyes are rivited on the coaster that the glass of tea is sitting on. I watch the dropplets of water slide down the glass and form a pool where the glass rests on the coaster. The intricate pattern of design it leaves behind.

    by Nancy* on 04.16.2010
  22. i think of roller-coaster when this word popped up. but then what about those coasters that you put your glasses on so they don’t leave a ring on a glass table? is that also a coaster? so is a roller coaster one of those with wheels? i don’t get it. my brain hurts.

    by mmeeeeeen on 04.16.2010
  23. The ring left on the table was pale brown in color. It stood out brightly against the rich dark brown of the wood. She didn’t have to say anything, the look on her face was enough to show how upset she was.

  25. He was basically a straggler, a stumbler, and a coaster. Rarely accelerating, mostly just moving along the plumb line, trying to maintain some equilibrium and failing at that.

    by gino on 04.16.2010
  26. Again with the coasters! Enough with the coasters! You hear me? You hear me bethany? It’s always the coasters responsibility to protect the table, huh bethany? What if the table doesn’t need protecting. Bethany.

  27. Coasters are quite boring. In a few years they’ll be quaint, and they’ll turn up in arty places, and they’ll have little simple birds or floral patterns on them, and maybe I should make some now so that in the future I can remember this odd website.
Also, I once chewed on one, at my Nanna’s house. She told me to stop it, but it was so salty and corky that I took it home with me, and months later I found it under the dining table, covered in dust and teeth marks. I felt immature and strange.

    by Flannery on 04.16.2010
  28. It’s my life. It’s something that prevents stains.

My life is up and down. Kind of stressful right now. I need a coaster to prevent the coaster of my life from staining me.

    Cedar point.

  29. He threw a coaster at me. On the train. It hurt a little, but it got my attention. We held hands in the rain. I always forget to ask what he was doing with it. It doesn’t matter.

  30. the coaster went sliding upwards toward the sun filling everything until the sun went black and the clouds burst into tiny droplets singing vigorously, joyously. the angels listened and wept with joy.

  31. Put your glass on the caoster so you do not get a ring on the table.

The fastest, criziest coaster is in the park in Disney. I will not ride it!

The Coasters were a group of singers during the early 1960s. They were all males.

Sometimes I am a coaster when I do not want to make a stand. I just coast along and let things happen. It is not easy to do because it is a waste of time.

  36. Your a coaster
    You sweep through life
    With no care
    With no aim
    With no direction
    to who knows where.
    Your a coaster
    that sits on the table
    Wet and used
    from the sweating glass before.
    Figure it out
and come back to let me know
when you have become more than a coaster
    but a man with more…
