  2. certain people can be just jerks. I don;t understand how some are just different when you know they everyone has some good in them, but is that really true? I remember writing an essay about certain people who were supposed to say if they were evil or not

    I gues it’s not exactly a posotive that the frist word that comes to mind is the negative of the given word.
    The intercom turns on and girls are laughing.
    The typer sits in his class and types. He has nothing to say except of uncertainty. His birthday is in three days.

  11. I am certain indeed. I work for a living but I am certain that I am not living up to my potential. I am certain that I want to do something better with my life. I am certain that I want more money to pay for the things I want to do. Certainty is a lie that one must live like it’s the truth. How can any of us be certain of anything?

    Certainly pecuiliar.
    I don’t have a lot to say about it besdies the fact that I am stuck in a class.
    Which is certainly unfortunate. No poetry, no certain ideas, no certainty, really. No nothing.
    How much I can say really isn’t interesting. It certainly does’t mean anything.

  14. I’m certainly certain that certain things happen for a reason. Although uncertainty may overshadow those things that are blatantly certain. Without certain circumstances in life, I am certain that I wouldn’t be the person that I certainly am today.

  22. I’m certain that nothing is knowable except through personal experience and scientific proof. But some people think you can know things: they used to think the sun went round the earth… after all, you can see it doing so. But the same kinds of people also think that god exists. The Bible, or the existence of earth proves it, they think. They seem certain in this circular argument, but I’m with the empiricists: let’s have some proof before we start taking another set of fairytales as the proof.

  26. Certain is sure. It is knowing that you know and knowing that you are right. The word itself sounds a lot like curtain, which is of course fabric that you use to cover your windows if you are certain someone is outside trying to look at you.

I realize that this task of writing whatever you think of when you see the word above is very much confounded with what you were doing/thinking about just beforehand, and that very much influences the content of what you write here. Haha. or maybe it’s just me. well the word “certain” doesn’t exactly inspire something very literary for me (for now), so I’ll just end here.

  29. What is certain? It is certainly, pardon the use of the word to express the concept, no easy matter to explain what is and what is not certain in this world. One could say they are certain of one thing or another then be entirely wrong about the issue; in the typical sense, however, one would use the term only when one is entirely sure about what they say and what the mean.

  38. I understand now, the clarity has cut into me like a thousand tiny shards of glass. It wasn’t as subtle as I thought it would be. But I know that if I were to reach for your hand, you’d probably reach right back. I know now that if I were to stumble, I would prop myself back up.

  40. Nothing, of course, is certain except death. And while that may seem depressing it does open one’s mind to the necessity to realize the brevity of our time in this earth, in this form. It becomes a signpost, the last sign post. Next gas … who knows?
