  31. cards and cards – birthday cards sitting in the window sill getting yellow by the day, dim reminders of a day long past, when I was happy and loved. Now alone, afraid to remove them from the window, to hide them away in a box or to bin them.
If they are not there, what proof have I of ever being loved? How do I know that these people ever existed in my life?
But it is all my own fault I am alone now, hiding away in my dirty flat, the yellow cards in the window telling everyone that this is who I am.

  35. I guess having a ‘lucky’ something makes people feel special. A lucky time (11:11), a lucky number, a lucky pair of underwear. I have a lucky card. The ace of spades. I guess I don’t play cards much anymore, but i used to collect them (which basically meant running around my house and stealing all the ace of spades from every deck). I guess I never felt any more special for having a “lucky” card, but I liked to pretend.
