  8. There was never a cage built that could contain him. Not that he was particularly big, or particularly strong or possessed of some kind of telekinetic power that could rip the bars asunder. It was simply that he could turn into water whenever he needed to. No cage built could hold him, no. But a cup could.

  13. She’d always lived in a fairly open place, with no edges aside from the walls of the little house she’d always lived in.

Her shock at seeing the towering buildings of the capitol was only topped by the fact that people lived in the small spaces between the walls – Cramped, hellish space to her.

She learned to deal, with time. Not like she had any choice.

  20. they lock animals in cages on a regular basis in animal shelters. its sad and cruel but must be done, i mean where else could you safely keep tamed or untamed animals for you dont know how they would react to others of their kind and humans especially.but i still feel bad for the sad locked up animals who cannot roam around freely like they should be able to by nature.

  21. The bars rattle as the prisoners shake them, they want out. Everyone in there is on the same side, because they all share a mutual goal. They all dream of, and wish for freedom. To be out of the cages, to be able to move around freely and live their lives on their own. Yet they still fight each other, they are only in there by choice. They choose to cage their selves in, rather than to be free with the rest. Prisoners of their own minds.

  32. One of my favorite quotes from a play I read in college called “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” is as follows, or something close to the real quote: “We don’t live together, we occupy the same cage, that’s all.” Even though it is kind of cynical, it is one of my favorite quotes because I think that too often living in a cage is what happens to most people who are married and/or live together. I don’t want that for my life.
