  1. Brunch was the stupidest thing she ever heard, but she went along with it anyways. It wasn’t her choice to begin with. Inside her head she swore that she never let herself get blackmailed again.

  4. I hated Sunday brunch. Every week was a new opportunity for my mother and her sisters to try and outshine each other with their children’s accomplishments since theirs had long since passed. Sunday brunches were the reason for all the tension between me and my family. If our dresses weren’t ironed properly, there was a scuff on our shoe, or if we had not accomplished as much as our cousins had that week, my sisters and I didn’t have to look in a mirror or even speak; the evidence of our inadequacy was written all over our mother’s face. Her sour mood was like a contagious disease that spread from person to person, more and more each day until Sunday finally came. Sunday, when all of her pessimism and jealousy would climax into pursed lips, small sips of coffee, and back-handed compliments to her sisters and nieces. I didn’t like my mother much. But i did feel sorry for her, because unlike me; Sunday brunch was all she had.

  8. When when is indecisive on whether to eat lunch or breakfast. Usually someone who really likes to eat. So they eat both at the same time and it’s called brunch. I imagine very fancy recreational talks happening at these events. Either that or you are busy on the read and try to get as much food in as possible.

  13. I was mad, but I couldn’t stay that way for long. I saw her stuck in an ugly middle of sorts, banging on the cage door but also basking in the sunlight that caught her face through the bars. She hated it and cherished it, and it was in that second that I realized she wasn’t as strong as me. She couldn’t shake it, and she never would. I bent metal everywhere I went, but she couldn’t break one door. That was the small and fatal difference that cut us apart and kept us that way.

  14. I’d like to have brunch with some of my old friends, but we can never seem to find the time. We should schedule it about two months ahead and make sure we’re there!

  15. I like those times when you just ate breakfast and after a few minutes your hungry again. Then you start looking for food and your parents say that its almost Lunch so dont eat. But then the best comeback is Brunch havent passed yet. =D

  16. I had taken a day off work, stress was building up. I reached into my pocket and clenched my well earned money in my fist. Might aswell take the folks for some food. Although, it was that awkard time between morning, and afternoon, so I guess brunch would have to do.

  17. The lazy and tired man’s breakfast and the impatient man’s lunch.

  18. I’m not a very big fan of breakfast. I do like lunch. So maybe brunch would be a better option for me than breakfast. But what really is the difference between the two? Do you eat different things?

  19. We sat outside on a cool day outside of a nice bistro for brunch. the weather was nice. our conversation was not. i tore my eyes from the scenery to look back at her.

  20. Brunch is a common occurrence in our flat. I sleep late, far into morning, and he, while he rarely sleeps at all, won’t eat unless I did. He has no particular interest in it. So when I rise to the sun already high in the sky, the first thing I always do is clamber into the kitchen and pull out the coffee and toast.

  21. I have brunch every weekend with my boyfriend. We drink mimosas and everything is lovely and toasty, and it’s a joy to go out into the sunshine afterwards. I love that feeling.

  22. I’ve never really been one to eat brunch. It seems like such a fancy thing…..Brunch. Like Queens and kings and those annoyingly rich next door neighbors do. Where they have lobster and quiche and sit around a beautiful table with candles and a lace table cloth.

    by Ashley on 03.08.2012
  23. Sarah and Abby were going out to bruch to discuss their feelings for eachother. They knew it was wrong but it felt so right. What could they do? The held hands and kissed when they saw each other and knew it was meant to be.

  24. Bruch is a stupid word. It sounds dumb. I hate it. More than anything else at this particular moment in time. Maybe I’m just angry because I don’t have any friends that’ll take me to brunch. Now I’m sad. Just kidding, mostly.

  25. Brunch is something that no 2 men can have together, it was the name of my childhood pet and it is very important to the balance of the world. If one does not have breakfast but it is not time for lunch but at the same time too late to eat before lunch brunch is an important median to cancel out the need for an extra meal, combining breakfast and lunch to the phenomenon that is Brunch.

    by Rebecca on 03.08.2012
  26. Brunch is my favorite meal. From the mimosas and afternoon sundresses nothing could be better. To make it even better he was there. He sat two tables away from me. He smiled as he ordered his coffee. “With milk please.” he added.

  27. brunch. lunch. breakfast.
    breakfast or lunch?
    who even knows
    because it just shows
how much love there is for both meals
    no matter the appeal
    of one
    or the other
because some say breakfast is better
    or lunch has better crunch
    but you know what?
    that’s why they made brunch.

  28. I’ve never had brunch before. Sure, the idea of it sounds promising, but I feel as though there’s just so much that could go wrong here. See, I like lunch alright, it’s breakfast that’s the problem. Then again, perhaps brunch is the solution to all the problems. Let’s just kick out breakfast all together and throw in a nice warm brunch!

    by Kelsey on 03.08.2012
  29. Brunch is a meal in between breakfast and lunch. Brunch is sold at Perkins and many other breakfast and Lunch locations. Brunch is a good thing to eat when you have people in your family who can’t agree on breakfast or lunch. It is delicious.

  30. I sat across from this beautiful girl whom I had only met but two days prior. We sat outdoors in a cozy corner cafe and ate peacefully as the gentle breeze wisped away her dark curls

  31. Brunch was meatloaf hash and a mimosa, the savory and the sweet. My mother ate a crepe while my dad resorted to French toast, as his sweet tooth was bullying his poor molars and tongue into submission.

“So,” my mother said with a raised fork, “when are you going to let us meet your boyfriend?”

    I swallowed. “Some other time.”

  32. “You simply must come in and have a light brunch with us~” the woman twittered. The Traveler was slightly uneasy. It was rare that anyone wanted to so much as -talk- to him, let alone eat a meal with him. However, his mother always taught him to be polite, so he nodded his head and followed the lovely lady inside, not knowing his fate was about to change with that one simple meal.

  33. lunch breakfast and dinner, but brunch. poor brunch, neglected by today’s society. forgotten by busy work people and children. poor poor brunch.

  34. a meal you have between breakfast in lunch i picture old women in white gloves with umbrellas even if it isnt raining. its kind of ridiculous. brunch could just be called a snack. used as fruit or a gronal bar. no real reason to have a whole nother meal.

    by braylin on 03.08.2012
  39. Brunch is the worst time of day. You’re not allowed to eat an entire plate of eggs, but a sandwich is off the table as well. Lunch, damnit. Lunch is where it’s at. Show me a brunch with a medium rare steak and I’ll agree. Bye bye, brunch.

    by KG on 03.08.2012
