  1. I was frightened almost to death when the boss told us about the layoffs for the first time last winter. When it happened two or three more times…it finally came to pass. Nothing.

    Darn alarmist.

  2. Had he always been an alarmist? No, that couldn’t be the case, she was exaggerating to make a point. He was maybe a little paranoid, but alarmist? Not even close, that was like the time he screamed bloody murder for everyone to get off the subway because he smelled paint fumes from a graffiti cover up operation, she said he needed to calm down, but he wasn’t an alarmist, right?

  3. i am so tired of all the news, the awful news, always bad, always extreme, who is out to get us today??? someone new, something new with the dawn of each new day. always fearful, always warning… never having peace, never having joy… how sad their lives must be. always running from one alarming thing to another.

  4. Someone who wakes people up or something that wakes people up. Its loud And noisy. Its something that can basically wake a person or a thing up.

  5. alarmist .. one who raises the sound bell on things happening, however, not always for the positive. It could also mean someone responsible for ringing the alarm. Harp plus person equals harpist? alarm plus person equals alarmist? Fun.

  6. This guy I use to know was scared of the dark and I couldn’t figure out how to help him. I mean, can you imagine? Being a grown man and terrified of the dark? He would jump into my arms ever time the lights went out.

  8. REALLY frightening. Putting the scarers on something loud noises. one person trying to take over the whole thing. sounds like someone who is fitting an alarm; this might be the new politically correct job description. or, could be misheard as someone who fits artificial limbs to people in a fog or something like that.

  11. Bells ringing and red lights flashing in head. Somewhere a siren goes off. I panic, I worry, I fret. For no reason sometimes. I live on constant alert of things going wrong.

  14. I’m not really sure what alarmist really is, but I think it has something to do with being worry all the time. If that’s true, then it’s one of the thing in my life that I want to get rid of. I don’t like that kind of feeling.

  16. I hate how today’s media focuses on everything from an alarmist perspective. The world is not going to end because some Hollywood socialite has to do some community service. The world is not going to end because a bunch of dirtballs are “occupying” wallstreet. The world is not going to end because the flu for this year is somehow super genetically mutated and incapable of being destroyed. The world is not going to end because the government made a legion of super zombies that have no weaknesses and mean dispositions…. but sometime I sure wish it would.

  17. She didn’t want to panic with every step of her day to day routines but that was her habit. She was an alarmist and she couldn’t help it…but then again people needed her to be that way. Otherwise the disaster would not have been averted. She saved the day with her personal flaw and for that she was thankful.

  20. My favorite doctor is an alarmist. I’d rather be told the bad news, the worst scenario and then have the best happen. It’s almost like a superstition with me. Even on school exams I expected the worse and was greatly relieved when it didn’t happen and I passed the exams.

  22. I don’t even know what that means but I’m going to guess it’s someone who causes alarm. Someone who makes others think that an event or reaction is worse that it actually is.

  23. I felt so alarmist after 9/11. Everything was a threat. I was scared to go to the mall, anywhere that people were gathering. Even to work. I figured on a Saturday night a bomb would kill as many people as were killed on that awful day. The alarm has dissipated with time.

  25. I’m not really sure what an alarmist is, and I’m extremely confused. I wish I knew the definition, that might make this a bit easier to write about. In other news, I’m making vegetable lasagna for dinner which I’m extremely excited about, you know? So, I’m going to google alarmist after my sixty seconds is up and see where to go from there, and maybe make an account and re-do this, which is cheating but whatevers.

  26. A person who thinks that something bad is going to happen. No matter what, they are always looking for what could go wrong. My father is an alarmist. If we are having a perfectly pleasant day, he will find something to worry about. It drives me crazy. i hope I don’t grow up to be like that.

Maybe I’m sounding the alarm. of my own stupidity for assuming everyone is on American time, Eastern time. This is the downfall of my generation, is how we are so closed minded in thinking we are the only ones. no globalism, but the cold narcissism that defines us.

She screamed, “Rape!” when a beloved swim coach tried to help her with her stoke…now, he is labled as a pedophile…and she, well, her 15 minutes of fame are over…What’s next for this alarmist bitch?

  37. this is someone who gets scared and startled quite easily and causes chaos amongst others to satisfy their own fear. and it is sometimes similar to the boy who cried wolf as they cause chaos with no just cause.
