  2. The aisle was narrow and desolate. The trash swept across the streets and the hundreds of different aisles on the planet. Was it a maze or a journey? A path or an end?

    by Jazmine on 05.27.2008
  3. i walked the aisle like a ghost, finding the trees that blew within me. i jumped for the salsa, but it eluded me with wispy fingers. i sighed. i hadn’t been down this aisle before, although my mother had many times. i missed her and her salsa-red hair. sometimes, it glimmered in the summertime when she went to the beach. her fat found a bathing suit and made me queasy.

  11. as i was perusing through the aisles one by one, i came upon one which made me stop. on the shelves were hundreds of canned animals, cut up into chewable little peices and perserved for ultimate freshness. i read through the lables, cows, chickens, lambs, turkeys. i pictured the animals in their living state and could not imagine buying a can of their death, taking it home and cooking it up for my children.

  12. I remember when I was a child going to church, there was a sensation that I should be there, but when I was 10 I became an acolite, the children in charge of lighting the candles for the ceremony… I can still remember it to this day, but I stopped going as soon as puberty hit. I knew church wasn’t for me.

  14. i ran down the aisle to the man waiting at the end, and once i got close enough to see who it really was, i ran out of the church, down to the local bar and drank myself stupid. ill never run down the aisle again, ill walk and take my time and maybe the person at the end of the aisle, will be the right person, instead of an ugly imitation of my perfect man, god please

  15. aisle. The first thing that comes to mind is a confined space filled with different things from daily life. Food, junk, accessories. Constricted by the luxuries of life that allow us to simply go and buy our goods. I’d rather be on a farm.

  16. I slowly sauntered down the supermarket aisle. I loved this aisle. About half on the shelves on one side were covered in various breakfast cereals, and mind you, these were long shelves. I licked my lips as my eyes gazed slowly from the top to the bottom. There was so much to choose from, from cornflakes to frosties.

  19. THe aisle was small and dark. Sheila went to the store to find oreos, but she found much more. She alwas ended oup in the wrong aisle and this week this frozen food section was it. Three men were stuffing a dead body into the frozen veggies door, as she turned the corner. This was going to be a long night she thought.

  20. I was walking down the aisle. I didn’tk now what I was doing, where I was going, but that man at the end sure made me happy. My father seemed to be nervous, holding my arm tightly and walking slower than he did at the rehearsal. Why was everyone scared for me?

I didn’t understand what they had against George – our future seemed bright. I wanted kids, he wanted kids, he had a good job, I had a good job. We were buying a house. It was beautiful, with nice, yellow shutters and a green door.

  21. the aisle is my second favorite seat on an airplane. Obviously the middle seat is the worst. The window seat is the best because you can lean against it to sleep. The aisle is only okay, as drink carts and people going to the bathroom often bump into you. It is good in the sense that you don’t have to climb over people to get out, but you do have to move when other people wish to get up.

  22. i walked down one once. it’s was a mistake. now i might be able to walk down another one, legally. that wouldn’t be a mistake, it would just seem redundent. maybe i could bowl down one instead.

  23. I walked up the aisle and she was there beaming with just a tear in the corner of her eye. Only I would see it as I was trained to look for emotion that she did not show anyone else. As I approached and inched closer I saw the slightest tremble.

  28. What is an aisle but a separation between two areas of congregation? The aisle is empty space, but it serves the important function of allowing movement. Do we need more aisles in life, or do aisles imply movie theaters and concert halls, which we may have our fill of currently?

  29. I’ve only walked down an actual aisle a few times in my life–once as a bridesmaid in a “Big, Fat Italian” wedding. I still remember the dress-blue flowers, halter back, ruffles. It hung in my closet for years until i finally donated it to Goodwill.

  33. I went to the aisle where she stood, hoping for an explanation. I didn’t really expect anything, but I hoped, against hope, that she would *want* to tell me a reason, an excuse, or at least give me an apology. She held the chocolate bar above the basket, took one look at me and said, “I think it’s about time we really stopped playing around here.”

  38. I went down to the grocery market and I was stuck in it. It is a middle of a two walls. You can get stuck in it. It is interesting to look at from a vantage point of a wall. It has a lot to do with walls and the space between them.
