radar
The small screen blinked green, an even smaller dot moving slowly around the edge. The green lines spanning out wavered for a second on the radar, the monitors all froze for a moment, and then flickered back to life. Only this time, the dots were multiplied one-hundred fold. The security officer gave a sharp cry of surprise and fumbled for his radio. Pressing the button, he held the object up to his mouth, "We have a code-" It was at that moment that he made a strange gurgling noise, like something wet was building up quickly in the back of his throat. For a moment, the receiver of the message was silent, until the officer, his eyes huge and pupils dilated, staring at the screen in shock, made another choking sound and slumped forward. The radio wobbled from his fingertips and thumped loudly and satisfyingly to the floor. The receiving officer began yelling down the line. It was then that the woman stood from her crouched position in the shadowed doorway to survey her work and crush the radio beneath a flat-footed, soft leather boot. "Sleep well," she hissed in the dead officer's air, yanking a small knife from the back of his throat.
