She traced the pencil around the stencil on the fabric. Cutting out the pieces, she carefully put them to the side. This was going to make such a lovely quilt for her youngest grand daughter. Once hers was done, her job was done. There were no more quilts to make, no more tears to mend. Her day would be done.
wander
As I wander through the desert, I am reminded of how insignificant I am. The vastness before, the imposing moutnains that surround me tell me that I am no more significant than the ant I would flick off at home. This is majestic. The blue skies, the reds, the tans of the desert. Now, it is beautiful. In a few months, it will be brutal. The baking sun, the intense heat. For now, I will rejoice in the beauty before me and relish the time that I spend here.

The trial began on the hottest March 22nd ever on record. As a very large man, George was perspiring heavily which made many in the spectator gallery think that he was obviously guilty. George was fighting for his life, his freedom. He was going to lose.
