Life has shown me (over my 61 years) that it's not what happens to you that matters--it's what you do about it.
since
Since I was a little girl I have loved words. I'm 61 years old now, and I'm definitely a word nerd. Most people just roll their eyes over things I find fascinating. For instance, I'm becoming convinced that the adverb is disappearing from spoken English. I can't tell you how many times television commentators says things like "He closed the door quicker than I did" instead of "more quickly." Am I the only one noticing this? I know the English language is fluid, but come on.... A whole part of speech disappearing? Something else I've found fascinating is that there is a word for everything! You can't look at the smallest part of a piece of machinery or a piece of furniture or a piece of a computer, without knowing that there is a term for it. It's just a matter of finding out what the term is.
