I hit my stride on the second lap. Pulling away from the competition I could feel the world go silent except for my breathing. It slowed and my legs stretched. Time stood still even while I didn’t.
Her stride was long, confident and quick. She wove her way through the crowd of tourists and onlookers, staring ahead, maneuvering through the crowd, not paying attention to the actor lying in the middle of the street.
She came striding into the room, fully into her stride, as she took charge of everyone and everything in her path. She smiled from side to side at whatever underlings greeted her, and there were many who did. They greeted her with admiring smiles, because she was the queen of the cubicles.
Along the beach there were shells of all colors. Pink, tan, blue, purple, all together in harmony. He took long strides as he kicked each shell within reach. Anything to get his mind of the horrible incident that was about to take place.
Walking quickly down the street is a stride. When walking with a stride it means you have somewhere important to be, and you need to be there quickly. When walking with a stride you have a purpose, a reason.

ah ha…i had a strong stride during the mom’s on the run yesterday. it is so much fun to get into the walking stide on a timed walk. what a great way to celebrate mother’s day.
stride is a way to go forward like I’m really not doing now in my job as a librarian for the air force where I jsut sit here all day and there”s usually nothing to do and I’m beginning to think I hate it but I spent all this money on the degree and Ive got to pay it somehow I keep saynig it’s just a way to get out of here it’s just an out just until I can get to a city and then I’ll quit and be an antiques dealer or a carpenter or a truck driver.
Striding is like walking only at a faster pace. Striding can get you from one place to another faster then walking at a normal pace. Taking bigger steps. Striding can also mean accomplishing as much as possible to be the best you can be.
I stride in one direction. He stops me. He asks me to follow him. I wish I hadn’t. That was my dream I left behind. Now he laughs at me. He knows he has done me wrong. I hope he rots in hell. I hope he loses his dreams too.
I stride up and down the hallway. Paciently I wait for someone who knocks on my door. Someone who I allow in. Someone who is capable of finding his way through the confusing corridors of my thoughts.
I took three big steps, trying to catch up with him. He looked back and smiled, “Where is my darling?”
