I saw butterfly twins come out a cocoon. It was funny because they were pushing each other in the face.

We all need to break out of something to grow up. Just as a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, it cannot get there until it has gone through the cocoon phase.

I wish I could wrap myself in silk and become beautiful but instead I have to deal with puberty and I probably won’t become pretty at the end so what even is the point.

“No meat on those bones,” you tease, poking at your boyfriend in his blanket cocoon.
“Genetic,” he snaps at you.
“I know, I know. Still too skinny to keep yourself warm. So you hogged all the blankets.”
“Let me into the cocoon, I’ll help warm you up.”

Violet had wrapped herself up in the blanket as if it were a cocoon, and I could do was lift her up like a bundle and carry her to bed. She was fast asleep before I even placed her on top of the mattress.
When I went back to my room, I did my best to clean up everything. Plastic bags were everywhere, and I kept my hands under cold water for a good half hour. It took ages to finally rub the rusty stains off.

“While you hide your head deeper in that self-absorbed cocoon of yours, our people are slaughtered!”
“There is nothing more I can do for them, Tera,” he drawled, shaking his head. “Not without risking war,”
“We’re already at war!” she snarled, slamming her hands onto the table. “Naming it so would at least give our people the right to fight back!”

The caterpillar didnt know the world was so beautiful outside its cocoon. Similarly in life we take the present situation as the final one instead we should keep hope that something better is waiting for us.

Remember that movie with Steve Guttenburg and the entire all-star geriatric cast? It was all the rave at the time and even spawned a sequel. I could never take Steve Guttenburg seriously after the Police Academy films.

I must be a serious nerd. My first thought related to “cocoon” was Pokemon. You know, how the bug Pokemon had an intermediate evolution before turning into something actually useful? Metapod and Kakuna. Haha, those were the days.

you sincerely believe that you are at a point in your life where you are neither an amateur with false positivity leaking from every pore, nor someone experienced and discontent with the changes happening around you. you are stuck as apathetic goo sloshing around inside a cocoon of false pretences and a complete lack of motivation.

The caterpillar curls up, not knowing what comes next. There is no hesitation. There is no chance to second guess. It will become nothing and then become beautiful. Or maybe it was always beautiful. Maybe what comes next isn’t something better, just something different. Life goes on and is not always so straightforward. It grows

The cocoon twitched as a shape emerged from inside it. The animal was a… butterfly cat! The winged feline stretched out her blue wings and then waited for them to dry.

What was he thinking. No one would ever want to date a guy like him. He curled up into a cocoon of blankets as his friends tried to coax him out with some hot chocolate. In his barrier of soft material, he felt as if he could fall apart. The warmth of the blankets allowed for him to relax and with the alluring smell of hot chocolate, he finally emerged.

He curled up into a ball in his cocoon of blankets. He never though such a thing would ever happen to him. Only in the movies, those strange random occurrences never seemed real enough to happen to him. Curled up inside his blankets, he let the stress of the day seep out into the soft material surrounding him.

Running in and out of stars, only to trip on some celestial collision, he grew a little stronger every time. I’m doing this all wrong, looking out instead of in and entered a vortex in his own mind. It’s strong enough now, it can be attacked or preyed, but I’m not coming out til I’m done. Nobody will ever know what really happened in there, but when he emerged, he was streaming colored light.

After all this time the caterpillar emerged into a beautiful butterfly. The world never saw anything of it, just a little worm that was slowly making it’s way in the world. Now it’s transformed into a majestic flying creature that brings wonder to the small children of the world. No one complains when there’s a butterfly flying around but when there’s a caterpillar around ew, what is that.
She lifted her face, sniffing the cinnamon and burnt sugar coffee smells on the air. The air was cold. Mary turned and burrowed her nose and chin back into the covers. She rolled over so that the light beneath the door was no longer visible. Her back and neck were sore–she probably just needed to sleep more.
Karen’s voice was soft: “I made breakfast.” Mary hadn’t heard her open the door.
“I know.” She shuffled inside the comforter. “My neck hurts. I’m going to keep sleeping.”
Her voice hardened. “It’s probably sore from sleeping too much. Come on. The coffee’s getting cold.”

nobody ever dreams of being a caterpillar
everybody just wants to be the pretty butterfly
but isn’t it amazing how whilst the cocoon
the caterpillar totally dissolves
and changes completely
i don’t think having all your bits liquefied would be very fun
so i kind of salute the caterpillar
that’s willing to go through all that
just to be someone everyone admires and wants to be

I can see the wings breaking. I can see the cocoon cracking, its papery wisps falling in flakes to the ground. I want to throw up, or scream, because the moth isn’t coming out the way it’s supposed to. I know this, I know this. I did a project on moths in third grade, you think I don’t know how a moth’s supposed to emerge from the cocoon? It’s not like this. The wings are not supposed to snap.

John carefully broke open the cocoon, and gasped to see that the creature inside was indeed alive! It was about four feet in length, with a somewhat humanoid form. It looked up at him, squinting through soft brown eyes, and attempted to speak in a low, faint mumble!
“Just five more minutes…”
“NO!”, bellowed John, as he threw back the bedclothes; “GET UP! YOU’LL BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!”
