    by Laura on 09.19.2011

  5. The champagne boomed through the room! He jumped and danced and jumped again. He screamed and laughed and screamed again. He drank the champagne, swallowed the pill and blithely died. In his cell, he’d had laughed, screamed and jumped. He’d finally earned his freedom, and with a gulp of champagne he’d celebrated with blissful tears in his eyes. Oh death! Delicious death! Ecstatic death! You come to us like a drink of champagne! We relish on you with rapture and mirth, and finally smile, with shining eyes, as you untie the bowline of our delusive soul and eat it with pleasure, like we drank yours.

  6. Today is the grand celeberation for my arrival. No one here knows my true intentions. The bright colors and sweets are not as bold through my senses, because they’re tainted with the knowledge that I’m going to ruin it all.

    by Hope on 09.19.2011
  7. I can’t believe he’s that old! Where did the little brother I used to know, go? I miss the innocence sometimes, but now that he’s older I feel we are a lot closer. I hope he enjoys his 20th birthday, and that many more come his way. He is my brother and I love him, and he deserves every happiness. ♥

  8. Today i am celebrating making it into the fall production at school. I am soooooo excited and I am truly grateful to be in it!!! Celebrating is something that we humans need to do more of, because if you lose sight of the good things, then how are you gong to distinguish what is bad.

  11. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a good or bad day, but I knew either way the end would go off with a ‘bang’. Sitting across from me was my parents looking as beautiful as ever while everyone starred at my shinning ring. While they looked happy, I was indeed the opposite since I knew who had given it to me was not my choice for an intended, but theirs.

  14. When December 20th, 2012 happens, my friend and I are going to celebrate by setting off several large things of fireworks. I’ve saved them for awhile, and I think that 20-12 would be the best time. Or is it the 21st? I’ll have to look that up.
Also, I celebrated 9/11 by building two paper twin towers and lighting them afire with paper planes soaked in WD-40 then lit on fire.

  17. Wanting to celebrate certain things at awful times is incredibly awkward. It was completely selfish of me to worry about our damn anniversary the week after his mom died, but it was so sudden and I had to direct my attention somewhere else in order to not be overwhelmed with grief. He completely forgot our anniversary, but I can’t say that I blamed him at all.

  18. Something we do at milestones; with champagne or in the alternative sparkling cider. It happens on snowy days, with frost rimming the windows, with turkey or hams on the table; with jellies, jams, plum puddings drenched in brandies and lit aflame to children’s shrieking delight.

  23. Bright festive colors filled the streets, crowded so much so that one could not tell which way to go to get anywhere. The roaring in his ears was deafening, the lights blind ing but still he could not wipe the smile off of his face. Alcohol was being passed from hand to hand, beads being flung into the crowd from the floats going down the street. The only thing his muddled mind could form as a thought was:

‘Damn. This sure is a hell of a way to celebrate.’

  24. today we celebrate a momentous event: I have decided that all of my research on free energy (as I compile data for a novel) will now be used to actually construct a viable, free-energy source to share with the world. Cause enough to celebrate I believe!

    by on 09.19.2011
  25. I’m celebrating the end of us. I’m pouring myself a drink-the first one in forever since you hate alcohol-and I did shed my tears, but I’m done now. I want to be done with you. You throw around horrible words aimed to kill and my shield is too weak from taking so many hits.

  26. i celebrated the birthday of my amazing friend, estrellita. She is badass radical who loves to have fun and dance. She can also sing karokee, which we did, at her birthday party. It was a great night and we all had fun. We played a variety of music including Queen, El gran silencio and Molotov.

  28. celebrate life
    celebrate love
it is what we are here to do… life is a gift to be cherished… we should spend every breath celebrating said breath.
and when we enter the dying process, this too should be a celebration. for we have made our way through the journey and will soon be entering the next one…
family, friends, caregivers… this is a time to celebrate

  29. Celebrate the pain, the loss. Enjoy knowing it will all be gone.

  30. Peter picked up his mandolin and began to play, singing in some peculiar language which flowed off his tongue in what must have been funny verses. Claire clapped, loving the sound of it all. It was a good time to play around the fire.

  31. Birthdays, milestones, a race finished. Life. Spirit. Beauty. Running until you’re out of breath. Birth, death. New baby skin. A kiss. Taking the path less taken. Loving family. Home. Smiles.

    by Becky Preece on 09.19.2011
  32. Kandace threw up his arms, confetti flying all around.
“You’re picking that up!” Ylva spluttered red pieces of paper from her mouth as she said that, her accent thick.
“Shut up, Ylva! I turned a guy gay! This means I win the bet!” he sung. Ylva scowled but let him have his day.

  33. If you celebrate what you do know,
then you’ll be able to celebrate what you want to know.
If we all argue about what we want to celebrate,
then we’ll never be able to have fun celebrating at all.
To celebrate is to understand celebration and what it means,
    how it feels,
    how we think it feels.

  38. “So you’re twenty-two now?”

    “Twenty-three.”

He passed me another bottle of Full Moon. We sat alone together on the blunter edge of a fence overlooking the lot. The grocery store sat empty on our left. The Jack in the Box was on our right.

“You could’ve gone out with other people, you know,” he said to me.

“I know,” I replied, taking a sip of beer. “I didn’t want to.”
