  1. It was his eyes more than anything. Grey steel impaling her sense of security. His posture was relaxed and there were no weapons in his hands. But even from the other side room, her champagne filled glass began to shake. There would be repercussions for forgetting his rules.

  2. Don’t threaten me. This is my dream and my goal. You have no right to take it away from me. I will do whatever it takes to get to that point. Watch me.

  3. Don’t you dare threaten me, she said. She held the knife above her head. The blood dripped down the blade, onto her hand.

  4. Threatening him was a mistake. From that day on he wouldn’t look at me when we walked past each other in the school hallway, past all the lockers and the the doors of each classroom, where each room held angst and secrets and boredom.

  5. His eyes were more threatening than the words he was saying. Mostly because he was saying really banal things with eyes that looked deep into my psyche and saw who I was. They were eyes full of affection and care, longing and fear, and they were the most intimidating things I had ever seen in my life.

  6. There was a soft, threatening edge in the way his words curled around his tongue. “I could always show you, you know.”
The way he spoke, it wasn’t sharp or meant to be a reprimand. But the authority was still unmistakably there, warning her that it would be best to stay well out of his way.

  7. “Back off! Back off or I’ll kill your daughter!”

Dale stared at the menacing dude in black holding his son in his hands. What did he say? “Um… he’s a guy, you know…”

The dude stared, then looked down at his captive and screamed. The son looked up and planted a kiss on his forehead, which sent him running for his life. Nobody ever saw the mugger again.

  8. I hate to have to threaten people but the woman in the front of the line at Starbucks was taking way too long to make a decision. I hadn’t had my coffee yet and after 11 minutes and 27 seconds of her asking inane questions about their coffee I had had enough. As quietly as I could, I walked up behind her and said, right in her ear, “If you don’t choose something in the next three seconds I will murder you.” It was only when everyone in the place grew very quiet that I realized I had actually shouted this…

  9. “do I threaten you? because I can walk, I can talk, I have opinions, or is just because my breast jiggle a bit too much when I run? Does that make you uneasy?” The woman sneered at him as she walked around the room with purpose, taking care to make sure her heels clicked loudly in the large empty room. Inside, her heart was beating wildy. Inside, she was a completely disaster, but outside she would not be halted. Not today.

  10. If there’s one thing I wish my parents taught me, it’s callousness. Sounds stupid, right? Too much love and kindness. But the older I get, the more I wish I had cultivated an instinct to threaten without feeling guilt.

  11. As he traveled out to the address in Bethesda, Doyle reviewed the timeline of his involvement with the Puppeteer. Looking back, things had happened very fast, and in Doyle’s line of business, that did not suit him, unless it was him that was making things happen.
He had been made a very generous offer, and had taken the bait, getting into a situation that he did not control. He was furious at himself for the lapse of judgement, but retribution and self loathing could wait. He had to figure out what the Puppeteer was really after, so he could figure out how the things he had done could be used to threaten him.

  12. City sounds threaten me. I grew up on a dirt dead-end street, and even though pavement came, today that street remains quiet. It’s peaceful. When I visit my parents, I take a nap. This city hums continually.

  13. Some guy threatened another. So the person that was threatened called the police. When the police arrived they arrested the person that did the threatening. Threatening someone is illegal. He was charged and convicted.

  14. I was a threat the minuet I walked into the room. I have no interest in that man. Little am I even aware of that Man. That Woman, she’s captivated my attention. To me, he is simply a moving fixture, part of the background scenery.

  16. She threatened me until I had no choice. I just wanted to go, be free. I didn’t know what else to do, so I kissed her. I knew this wasn’t the end. She would only get more demanding, more controlling. I kept kissing her. I cried. I could feel her smile beneath my tears and my heart raced. She was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. Her lips were warm and her eyes were cold and she had a soft voice but somehow, I hated her. All I wanted was to be free.

  19. He paced into the room with a weapon in his hand. It irritated him that the shopkeeper had forgotten it was pick-up day. He gripped the hammer and eyed the room with surveying accuracy.

“Where is he?” he snapped. Not in the mood for time to be wasted.

    “He’s out back

  20. I think of men when I think of threats. Second, cats. The first is entirely sexist, the second completely reasonable. Lightning is a threat. Work is a threat. I’ve threatened. It’s a way to get what one wants, and often it’s irrational. It’s a defense tool. It’s a power struggle.

  22. “BITCH!” the man yelled and pulled my hair back. Pain burned into my scalp. “Dont you fucking dare speak about this again” I yelped as his fingers gripped my ponytail tighter.
“or what?” I growled, tears escaping my eyes but I tried to hold my ground.
“or else I’ll make sure you can’t speak back me” he spat and did one final tug before throwing me to the floor. I lay crumpled up, rubbing my sore head.
“fine” I cried, giving in as his tall from loomed over me.
