  3. I don’t come here to do more of what I will do when I go there. This is #local. This is now and now is the moment I have to create a reality out of the scattered realms of probability as to manifest a grand scheme of achievement and reinvention. This is mine. Now. @oznolem @oneworddotcom

  4. Local elves and elephants are dancing to pigeons on the rooof that was in the air and im not quite sure what i am writing at all as i am possessed and there are not demons behind me doing unspeakable things, but possibly there is, it depends what you consider unspeakable because unspeakable is still a speakable word even used with locals.

“Oh really? What about these carrots?” shouted a grumpy man from the back of the line.

    “What *about* these carrots?”

“Well, you see,” the man said, then turned the carrots around.

The owner gasped and ducked for cover.

  6. The local people was not satisfied that justice was done in their favor, when the young man was arrested and released shortly afterward. The residents were upset and concern with the fact that too many persons were being robbed and attacked in broad daylight and nothing was being done about it.

  7. Being local isn’t easy. Sometimes it takes years to settle in and feel like you know all of the side streets, the regulars on a Sunday afternoon, where the best salted caramel brownie can be found. I finally feel like a local and it feels good. But now that I do, I feel like I’m ready to move on.

  11. Local anesthetics. Dentistry. It really fuckin’ sucks when the dick hole stabs your inner face with the giant god damned needle. The actual dental work without anesthetics hurts less than the method by which they numb you. I fucking hate dentists. I’m gonna pull all my teeth with some pliers and bottle of whiskey.

  12. she wanted to be home
where the city lights engulfed her
where, if she closed her eyes,
the lights would flood behind her eyelids and
    illuminate her quiet world

    now,
no matter how hard she tried,
she couldn’t get that brightness to come back

  13. The local area had been evacuated. Why you may ask? Well because of the alien battleship looming overhead. It’s simple to say really, but to comprehend it you have to understand the destruction it caused in such a short time. Dropships full of the menace murdering crowds of people in a matter of minutes, in the middle of an urban centre.

  14. People are squatting near the ocean looking for the Sasquatch that ate the tribes people’s mother because it wanted the brownies from the potluck but the village people said no. They cried because they were cold.

  23. There were a lot of family owned buisnesses in Jack’s area. A farmer’s market was held all throughout the summer. There were lots of city activities and fun things in the park. The area was just a wonderful place to be.

  24. No one local seemed to recognize me these days, but maybe that was a good thing. After all, I had a beard now – a big one, thick and bushy with little curls at the end. I loved that beard. I’d spent over an hour trimming it every morning before pulling on my favorite blue blazer and strolling outside with a little dance in each step. Still, when I walked into the drugstore that I used to loiter in back when I was a kid, I saw someone’s eyes settle on me before she spoke.

  25. she’s a local, staying close to home, afraid to wander away. he follows her, pacing behind like the mutt he is, walking at her heels, tongue lolling. it’s hot this time of year, but she’ll go to the community pool and he can lay in the shade of the changing rooms and pant while she and the other kids run around dripping.

  26. It’s not a local bird.

Haruki stumbles into the kitchen and finds his mother staring at it. The bird, a tawny brown owl, stares back.

“I’ve never seen someone use an owl as a messenger bird,” He says, seeing the letter between them. It sits innocently on the table.

“Me either.” She agrees, looking disgruntled. The letter is an envelope instead of a scroll.
“Who’s it from?” Haruki brushes past her into the kitchen. “Can I get some cereal?”

“Go for it. And it doesn’t say.”

Haruki reaches for his favorite box only to pause with his arm stretched out.

    “It’s addressed to you.”

He gets over the surprise and snags the box.

    “That’s weird.”

  29. The local coffee shop was the place to be. Or so it seemed, with the amount of people that came there every day, all shapes colors and sizes the writer had enough characters to fill twenty books. What he did not know though was that the main character of his next book was about to walk through the door.

  40. the locals of the town lived off their own means. They didn’t trust foreigners, so this town was not one frequently traveled. People came back from visiting with disappointment and anger for the rude locals. Though, the locals were not rude in the slightest. They liked what they knew and so they did what they liked.
