  1. Maybe we’re all our own gods, our own followers. Make space in your mind to be followed to see to be observed, to be seen. There’s no one out here like anyone else, so maybe our beliefs come from within should be directed within.

  2. When I was in grade 12 I was asked to go to a camp in Ottawa for student leaders. An incredible opportunity for the low, low price of $1000! We didn’t have the money to spend. Neither did my high school. Enter the local Legion. They took a chance on me and paid my expenses. I was so thankful for the incredible week & opportunity. To my shame, I never sent a thank you note. Story of my life.

  3. from the depths the legions came,
their banners high and eyes aflame,
their thirst was for unknowing things
that crawl beneath the crowns of kings
their swords were rusted with the blood
and their boots were covered with the mud
of a thousand thousand banners furled.
and a thousand thousand conquered worlds

  4. When the little old lady with blueish hair demanded a senior citizen discount for her donuts and coffee, Andy winced. “We don’t do that here,” he said in the shamed voice of a naughty boy. Fifteen minutes later, she returned with a gang of more than twenty, some wielding their canes like baseball bats. Andy held his arms up and gave them all discounts.

  8. Legion.
    Military.
But in my head, it was leg-ion.
Like the ions for the leg.
Maybe I have been studying too much Chemistry recently.
Or maybe Chemistry have been studying me all along.

  9. She stared at the unfamiliar word, hands poised over the keys
    She had seen it before
    but now
the black curves sensuously poised over the white background
    the meaning escaped her
    even the pronunciation
    Just the letters
    they formed an incomprehensible idea
    “you are a fraud”

  10. The sound of thousands of men pounded out a steady rhythm into the concrete. They were here.

“C’mon, we don’t have much time,” I said, scrambling to the top floor of the townhouse. The five other men along with me rushed up the stairwell as quietly as they could. We each took up positions along the windows. Across the street, another squadron lined up along the rooftop.

Reaching into my coat, I pulled out a small plastic box with a red switch on it. The army continued on down the boulevard. It was time. Time came to a near standstill as the windows broke under the weight of our weapons. I took the detonator in my hands. With this, I would be setting off the largest conflict our world had seen…

So I pressed it. The ends of the elevated walkway down the road became engulfed in fire as the explosives detonated. The army below was trapped with a storm of angry men armed to the teeth with the element of surprise and the mobility of a tiger.

“Vigilo Confido,” slipped from my mouth as I brought my weapon to bear, a harbinger of the end of this occupation.

  11. “Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.”
    “What is it, my son?”
“We have killed a man,” the voice from the other side of the confession booth kept its calm demeanor.
    “‘We’? Have you accomplices?”
    “Neigh, father. We were alone.”
“My son,” said the priest, his hands starting to shake, “I am not sure I understand.”
“That is why we are here, Father. We seek your guidance.”
Father MacElroy stirred in his wooden seat.
“Well,” he said, “how can I be of service.”
“Could you spare us your liver?” Again, the voice did not falter or show any hint that its request was demented. Suddenly, an arm shot through the wooden screen and gripped the Father with the force of a hundred young men.
“What are you?!” shouted the priest.
“We are Legion, Father. We are one.”

  14. I have a character in one of my books named Legion

    she’s cool

    she’s like a mom

    she IS a mom

a demonic, crazy mom with a British accent

like the kind of mom that takes their kids to Big Lots just for the sake of sleeping in the chairs

and sacrificing their souls to hell

but she’s not as cool a mom as me

    cuz I’m a cow mom

  15. We stand together… we are one. People with insane differences coming together for one powerful common. Lean on each other, be there with strong kindness and powerful words.
Leave the place and remember their names. You belong to each other.

  16. I want to honor. Life lately? It’s about writing the most personal stories I can. And those stories? They are actually about a whole legion of men.

  17. There was a legion of people at my party and the cops where just called. No ways out besides running and those who dared to drive wasted. Some of us are doomed to get in trouble for underage drinking.

  18. Drinking, old guys, gambling, stories, the same stories again, drinking.

  19. Out of breath, she could growl no more. Her throat had completely dried, her mouth had turned to sand. Her body shook and quivered to no avail. Her whole being was agitated but confined to the stake. So up high her body suspended on that damned thing that from the earth she looked as if she were a black kite, thrashing around on the cross after being pierced through. Sky blackened by dark clouds, even the waxing moon was hard to see. The villagers marched in legions towards her. The women and their children had locked themselves in their homes at the command of their men, only the sound of crickets accompanying them on this unholy night. The men, however, marched forward with chants so loud that their intensity silenced even the wolves. “Burn the bloody witch!” “Burn the bloody witch!”

Their descent led them to the valley of hollow woods where the woman -nay, the beast- was dangling like a cooked fish since three days and two nights. A consensus was reached; death by fire was imminent.

  20. A légió katonái rémülten rezzentek össze, ahogy parancsnokuk ráüvöltött egyik társukra. Utálták ezt az embert, s még jobban félték. Valamit tenni kéne, hogy ez ne maradjon így. De mit?

  21. My brother cut off his thumb to avoid the draft, but this isn’t so bad. He was scared of battles, dying to some Barbarian with a club. I’m standing in a ditch with a shovel, spreading out another cartload of pebbles.

  22. A time will come when people have to stand up and form a legion, against the system that has always suppressed them, kicking them down and keeping them their for fear of overthrow, lost of power.
I believe that people will follow their basic instincts, their sense of freedom and happiness and love, and will rise up against any force, in order to be human.

  27. They would never be able to find him. He was legion-trained. He had braved freezing nights, sweltering days, the worst sorts of weather and training imaginable to be here. This was where he would thrive.

  29. Oh, those famous words. “We are legion,” that strikes fear into the churchgoer’s heart. They cross their palms and pray like Jesus, like earth-worshippers, and they fall to their knees and obediently suck in their spare time. Devils and demons walk this earth in multitudes, they’ll claim, fluttering their fingers at their foreheads, pointing nails and painting pentacles. Demons and devils are all amongst us.

  30. Big man. Small army.

  32. The sea of heads swarmed around the Great Hall. A great legion of adolescents, unprepared for the war they were unfortunately stuck in, crowded the whole area. His eyes searched everywhere for her. Dark bags under his eyes were clearly visible, due to his desire to see her that morning. His clothes were crinkled and haphazardly thrown on; unlike his generally organized and presentable appearance. As his eyes landed on a mop of chocolate bushy locks, the tension locked in his jaw faded away. She was safe.

  33. A legion of men wandered through the canyon. Stepping over the bodies of their fallen brothers in arms, saying a prayer as they walked across the battlefield.

  34. There are a variety of legions that I can think about. The only legion that matters to me is my legion of friends for they are always by my side, brothers in arms, ready to battle.

  35. The music stopped
    Still marching to a cadence
    Seems natural now

  36. A legion of empty words followed the three I sputtered out to her. I gave her the three most feared words in the world and she gave me none in return. Staring into her eyes I saw nothing, just a vacancy that my feelings for her could never fill because, in her near vegetative state, she could never respond to anything I ever said to her.

  37. Angels from on high descended to earth, the battle was on. The Evil One, named Legion, had his crowd, not only of demons but of regular people who thought that they were joining the fun side. The angels wept silently, if only the foolish mortals knew what fate they faced. There would be nothing fun greeting them and once that choice was made, there was no turning back.

  38. “Where’s the party at?”
“The American Legion Hall on Franklin Avenue.”
“That’s kind of a cheap place to have a going away party.”
“No it’s not. He’s going into the army. It kind of works together.”
So there’s Joey, going off to join the Army, after having tried about a million different kinds of jobs. One year, he was going into the internet startup business; he was selling things that were already pretty much obsolete. I tried to tell him that, but he’s not such a good listener, Joey. Then he decided to go into the bakery business. He hated getting up early and he hated working, so you knew that was going to be kind of a tough go. That lasted about 6 months. Then he thought maybe he’d like to try law school. Thank God they sent one of his uncles to talk to him about that. Never even got to take the LSAT test to get in. To look at him, you’d think he was the nicest guy in the world. Tall, kind of good looking, polite as hell. I gave his parents a lot of credit for raising a polite kid. That’s not easy, let me tell you. But this kid could just not ever get off the ground. So now here he is, all set to go into the Army. It’s got me worried, I’ll tell you. Cause when you fail at that, well, you just don’t want to be doing that.

  39. King Henri’s Fourth Legion had swarmed its way across the Dead Savannah for the past three months, leaving rotting carcasses and the last screams of the dying behind them. The soldiers ignored the smells, or if they didn’t, they breathed the odors in deeply as if admiring the perfume that they had created with their swords and axes. As every other battalion had crumbled against enemy forces, the Fourth Legion pressed onward, the heat baking the once shimmery silver surfaces of their shields.

  40. Chuck wasn’t going into the breach alone. The battle ahead would be long and hard, as it was every year, but at least he had a legion of sales staff behind him. This Valentine’s day at hallmark was gonna be hard, but they would get through it together.
