  1. To all my friends! I think of Mickey Rourke in Barfly.

It also makes me think of happy times, holidays and what Dutch people eat for breakfast with a nice slice of cheese on top.

    Merry Christmas.

  8. I like toast. I like to eat it in the morning with various condiments. I like the way it gets toasted nice and crispy brown on the outside, but nice and soft and doughey in the middle. I particularly like the way that butter melts on toast and soaks into the bread to make a buttery taste of goodness.

  17. THere was a point in my life where I liked toast, where it didn’t dry my mouth out like a buttery desert. That was then. I haven’t eaten toast in at least 4 years. I don’t even have a toaster. It is considered a staple American breakfast, but I just can’t understand why people eat it. It just stale crusty bread.

    by Grady on 12.18.2008
  18. toast is delicious, I really love to eat it in breakfast, with butter or jelly it can be awesome, but when time has past it can be gross actually, the best companion with it it’s coffe

  19. The burnt toast really wasn’t all that appetizing for her. Granted, she wasn’t feeling very well, so perfect toast probably wouldn’t have looked good to her either, but really. Burnt toast? It was like kicking someone when their down. It was a mockery. “We know that you don’t feel well today, so we’re topping it off with trying to feed you some burnt toast. Sincerely, The Mockery Crew”

    by Ainsley on 12.18.2008
  20. toast is good warm and yummy, soggy in the center with too much butter. best with streaks of cinamon and sprinkles of crystal clear sugar. toast is good. toast is simple. toast is under rated. sometimes when toast is really good and crunchy it hurts the roof of my mouth and reminds me all day about eating it earlier.

  22. Toast is good. It gets you through being sick, can make you feel better if you’ve drank too much, and it’s something you do before you drink. Toast is really good with butter and honey, also with apple butter. I havn’t had apple butter in a while. That’s one of my favorites.

  23. I woke and discovered that among the rest of the crap he left me to clean up, he also left toast. Black, burnt and gross toast that was hard as a rock and messy. I suppose I could call the toast a sign of the status our relationship had come to: black and dead.

  25. I was once the toastmaster in a wedding. It was awful; the bride trned in to a monster and the groom turdned in to a broom. The guests all applauded and threw rotten cakes at me. I tried to escape but got hit and died. Now I lie here.

  28. It popped out of the toaster melancholy like rain on a springtime eve. Boring, pathatic and measily. It was burnt though, and the odor swam through the kitchen in a rather froggish fashion. I walked over to claim my shoddy prize.

  29. Toast to us… toast to the future that we have ahead of us.
It’s such an odd thing, the future. We have so many possibilities out there, just waiting for us.
It’s hard to imagine where our paths will lead us, thinking about it just dizzies the mind.

  32. Once upon a time there was a girl. Not just a girl, a dream girl. I mean, this girl had it all. Looks, class, humor, talent, intelligence….did I mention looks? Anyway, she was telling me about toast and we would not decide what was better: butter or cream cheese. It is conversations like this that just make me glad to know her and even have a chance to show her how I fell. Boom!

    by M3 on 12.18.2008
  33. I like my toast not too crisp, but just crisp enough. Like where the crust it a little crunchy, but the inside is still fairly soft. Nothing charred though, that would be gross. I also like cinnamon rasin toast the best. Or without the rasins. As long as there is butter!! :)

I toasted my bagel in the toaster that has been broken for 4 weeks now– that you said you would fix –that I thought I heard you said you fixed but now I have cold bagel bread that is not toasted because you can’t pick up a damn tool instead of the remote. Forget it, Mr. Handyman — I’ll fix it myself.
