  8. There is no real way to prepare to be tested. All you can really do is stuff your head with anything that could possibly be considered useful and face the thing with your head held high. That’s not very soothing. People love to be prepared.

  23. Being strung up can be a good thing or a bad thing. They way I have usually heard it used is when a guy is strung up on a girl. In other words he cant get her out of his mind. Another way to use the word strung is like the beads were strung. This means that bead were put on a string possibly to make a necklace, bracelet or perhaps a christmas tree decoration.

  24. This refers to stringed instruments, like guitars, violins, cellos, mandolins, etc. I have had a guitar but never play it any more. The strings all broke and it had to be restrung. But I still dont’ play it. My son has it now and I think he might play it if he had time.

  34. A chain of beads, needles and string. I wish the string was thin enough to fit, but it isn’t, and I really can’t afford to go back to Joann’s to buy any more. If I would just be patient enough, I could use spool thread. It works but it gets tangled.

    I’m all strung out because of all the disappointments I’ve been facing. My heart feels pruny. Thank goodness I know that prunes are sweet or else I’d really be depressed.

  39. Being strung along is the worst. Feeling like you are in control only to be yanked off your feet and thrown to the floor. Don’ do it to others or you are doing it to yourself.
