  6. And then there was that horrid sponge. Washing dishes was already a terro- but seeing the dirty old sponge my dad left in the sink to scrub his bowls and spoons made me gag.

  7. We all were going crazy. Downing soda and stuffing ourself’s with pizza. It was awesome. Trying to throw the pizza up like the chefs on t.v. Sauce and pepperoni got on the ceiling and the floor. Sure Mom said nobody could come over but it was just the three Camden boys from across the street and us four. What’s the big deal? Her and Dad wouldn’t be home till eight. It was only… 7:45, what? . I yelled at the guys, “It’s 7:45! We have to clean up.” They rolled their eyes Kenny said, “So what? We have 10 minutes then we’ll clean. They’ll probably be late-” Just as he said that we all heard a creak. At the same time we stared at the door. Mom and Dad. We didn’t move a muscle just waited for what was to come. For the next hour we cleaned and scrubbed with the sponge.

  21. Sponges absorb. Thats all they do. Some say they clean, but in that sense, they absorb grime. They absorb dirt. They absorb everything that needs to be clean. A sponge serves one function and one function only.

  22. the kitchen sponge is filled with dirt and grime. i dont understand why people have the need to use it to “clean” their dishes. on second thought, a sponge could be referring to the womans birth control?!

  28. I hate sponges. They are filled with the filth of the food that we stick in our mouths, day after day, and they soak up that filth so that we may do the same again at the next meal time. I wish there was an alternative.

  32. I really like Sponge Bob. I used to watch him all the time as a kid. And I hate it when people leave sponges in the sink to get all moldy- it’s fucking annoying. Clean up your shit. ‘Cause it’s such a waste. You have to use up so many sponges ’cause they get all gross. And I’ve asked you to stop, but you don’t listen.

  33. I wet the sponge once more, squeezing it to relieve the excess water before I drag it across his forehead once more. I don’t understand how so much blood could be pouring from his head, considering he’s still conscious. I hate to see him like this… but it happens so often.
