The wellies squeaked; cheap plastic always does. She was as tentative as a duckling but like a duckling she knew where she wanted to be. She wanted water over the top of the sticky plastic boots, she wanted the Eureka of her body moving the puddle from where it used to be to where it is now, she wanted the splash to rain down on her face.

water expholiated through out the atmotshphere. Molecules grizzling in thin air grapsing tightly of obtrusions in the path given to every individual drop that could form in nature. Just like the rain storm

The muscles of Jonathon’s back rippled as he ran. Like a stone thrown into water, consentric circles formed a pattern across his muscles. The young girl tried to avert her eyes, and failed, as he jogged passed her in comfortable rhythm. Jonathon could feel her staring at him, and as usual, he revelled in the sensation. He had spent his life being looked at; a boy of golden curls and fierce green eye; a teenager of cheeky smiles; and now, a young man that made all girls turn and watch with baited breath.

Splash is something cool that happens when your mom hits the water pool with 50 mph…

Splash! The package fell into the water. What were they going to do? How should they replace it. It was impossible?
She was going to kill them. All he could do was stare in horror.

Splash! Off the water slide & into the cold water. They laughed with abandon when as they scrambled to the edge of the pool to climb the ladder again. She wished that they’d been able to do this every summer.

She heard a light splash from behind her. She quickly turned to find a small, chestnut hued sparrow submerging his plump little body into the birdbath that her brother had bought her for Christmas last winter.
“We don’t have any birds here, Lane. The neighborhood cats eat them all”.
“Well, I guess you’re just going to have to take on the new role as guardian then, won’t you?”
Taige just stared at him for a minute as if he had just sprouted three individual heads.
“I hate birds. You know this. Hate them!”
“Well, T….don’t you think that now would be a good time to learn to love something instead of hating it?” Lane had inquired.
Taige watched as the little feathered friend chirped at her as though he knew the what was running around in her mind. And then she did something she hadn’t done in years.
She began to whistle.

Blue and white and a happy thrashing. And the water zinging and your body light and the sun splitting and all around you gold and blurry bright. And the gurgle and swoosh of water as you pick it up, the resistance, the pull, the laugh as your hands scoop and throw and throw; all around, the giggles like bubbles floating to the surface of yourself and bursting.

The water makes a splashing sound when children play and they are enjoying life with no worries just how long they can hold their breath for underwater.

All I can think of is that ridiculous rubber ducky song that always gets stuck in my head whenever I hear it. “Splish, splash I was taking a bath…” Good lord, that song is irritating. Now it’ll probably be in my head for the rest of the day. But at the same time, it couldn’t be all bad. That song also reminds me of this picture I found online of two little ducklings in a cup. Super adorable :)

She splashed in the laughter of her soul as she tasted freedom for the first time. She did not care what the crowd had to say. She walked tall and spoke with courage. Never again was she going to let what others thought about her hold h back. She got up and got out of the everyday chaos of those who wanted to smash her dreams and destroy her story. She splashed in the reality that she was set free.

Into the water, I go!
Off a bridge, off a diving board, off a cliff
I don’t care,
It don’t matter.
All that matters is me and the clear sky
The I sink my body into
And make one helluva entry.

I dropped the box into the water. It plopped into the dark water without a splash. I caught a glimpse of it’s silver top, glimmering in the moonlight, before sinking out of view.

Things need to be done. They need to be documented and arranged. I want to be heard, sometimes. Just the tiniest splash of proof that I’m existing and I’m enjoying it. Other times I wallow and dance and chill, not really caring. I can’t tell which is worse, the wallowing or the wanting. Who really knows…

As the water splashed up over my eyes, I fought not to scream. Memories flooded in, and I recalled being three years old, helpless, and trapped in a forgotten well. And now, fifteen and I’m still terrified of water, although I haven’t a reason to be. The water drains away from my face, and I swallow before carefully wading my way out of the pool. “Em! What’s wrong?” my boyfriend calls after me, but I just close my eyes and ignore him

“Don’t you dare splash me,” I threatened. You just laughed and flicked more water at me. I squealed and splashed you back. Water cascaded down your shoulders and you slicked you hair back from your forehead.
“Just you wait,” you said through laughter and I attempted to swim away.

bare feet on the dewy grass as I work my way down a steep embankment that leads to the swampy pond behind my childhood house. I slip in at night the mosquitoes attacking my naked, pale skin as my body adjusts to the water temperature. I dive, a small splash from my weight, the droplets suspended in air for a moment and then drifting back into the black waters. Its how I spent my summers escaping from the heavy heat.

Splish splash I was taking a bath, and I don’t remember the rest of the lyrics. In fact, I don’t remember the last time I took a bath. I like playing that splash game in the pool. You know, the one everyone plays but all hate when the chlorine is burning your eyes.

The water splashed as I shoved the cat in the bath. It hissed at me scrambling to get back in the water while I pushed it back in scrubbing her down. Her claws etching at my skin. Her anger sizzling with each swipe.
“Stupid cat.” I muttered plopping shampoo on her.
Today. She will be clean and victory will be mine.

The two little kids splashed and played in the water for hours, until day turned to night. “Mommy why am I a prune?” The youngest one asked. She just laughed and carried him in.

As I was walking past a big open pond one day, I heard a very loud SPLASH! I had no idea what it could be so I stepped closer and as I did I heard that same SPLASH again. It was a boy who climbed on a branch and was joyously jumping into the water in the bright summer sunshine.

I dove into the the cool blue water and felt the bubbles rush up over my body as I streamlined down toward the dark depths. Faintly I could hear laughter and voices from far away, but I was in my own world.

the water was still for so long, that the people determined it could only be a breeding ground for mosquitos. Suddenly, a pygmy hippo crashed through the forest underbrush, made straight for the water, and with a splash, disrupted the stillness that was the solace of the place. Noises erupted from all over the forest, of indignation and of excitement.
