  1. They all turned and stared at me for a moment, beginning to recognize that I wasn’t a circus performer. I’d have to talk fast or they would probably kick me out. I also knew she was probably the kind of girl who got a lot of attention from men… The best way to win her over would be to nonchalant — that’d sidetrack her.

    “I heard you talking about recipes,” I said, “and I just wanted to tell you about my mom’s delicious, secret recipe for apple pie.”

    They looked interested, expecting me to go on.

  4. The bellhop couldn’t help but get sidetracked when that guest came and hopped onto his desk to sit. He had never wanted company, but she refused to believe otherwise.
    She reached forward and stole his hat, placed it on her head as if to model for him and smirked.

    “Give me my hat back.” He said annoyed, the faintest slight of grin hidden on his face.
    “I’ll give it back….Maybe.”

  5. My roomate looked up from my homework and asked me a question, one of the many that must have been burbling around in her brain. “Will the air ever run out of space for our texts and emails? Where do they go when we who we send them to doesn’t get them?” Here we go, sidetracked again.

  6. Walking along the straight path, we’re all trying to find our way. But the voices of the woods are so tempting…the wilderness is a siren’s song that wants to draw me within it’s thicket. I fight the impulse to wander away, but the darkness is so lovely and deep…

  7. Sidetracked. This word describes me in every way, shape and form. I think and think until my brain gets off track. The train rumbles through on a narrow, jagged path that never follows the correct path. Am I going down the path that will lead where I need to be, time will tell.
