  4. He reads a lot about it in the massive volumes planted in the study. Sometimes he sits in the sunniest part of the living room with the books stacked at his side, smiling all the way through the pages as his comprehension and excitement grows. He’s not sure where his interest springs from… he’s not even sure what he could call this sudden love and interest of science. Building things came first, when he was little he was always learning, discovering.

He never wants this need to learn to stop. Ever.

  11. Science is something i don’t like, or even pretend to understand. I’m sure it’s interesting to a lot of people, but I’m not one of them. I’d much rather paint – that’s how I observe the world and make sense of what happens around me.

  12. Ron gave me some info about lightning and thunder when we saw some heat lightning last night on our way home from church. Something about how lightning creates a vacuum and the air rushing in makes thunder. How did you know that? I asked. I don’t know, he said. I guess I learned it in science. Science and history were my favorite subjects in school. So I learned something about Ron last night. I was, I have to say, impressed. I like Ron. He knows stuff I don’t know, but he doesn’t beat me over the head with it. I just wish he liked kissing more than he seems to. Science and kissing don’t seem to mix with Ron. Explain that.

  19. Fiction. Magic. Truth. WHatever it may be, science is the foundation of life and the point of proof against the idelogies of religion and God. I believe that science is in my soul – the wonders of the worls are etched with this magic and the truth in life is imbued with it’s teachings. Science is honesty and purity of life, such that it casts a layer of protection and belief in the proven on those who choose to follow its path and believe in the powers of science over god.

I like to think of people in their white lab coats, very efficiently trying to come up with the answers we all so desperately seek.
